    on the second verse you use two numbers 4 and 5 to give the reader an general gist of the sharks lifestyle

    The first stanzer is 5 syllabals long the second stanzer is 3 syllabals long.
    Therefore I think that the first stanzer is long because it is talking about a deadly beast waiting to eat its pray.
