Today, year 3 are going to make Mother’s Day cards to say thank you to our mums for all the things they do for us like:
-cook a wonderful tea for us every day
– clean and tidy our rooms
-love us for ever
– wash our clothes
– wash the dishes
and just be there for us!
–
The children had lots of answers and said their Mums make their beds, tidy their bedrooms, make their tea, clean up after them, play games with them, help them with their homework, vacuum and look after their pets. When I asked them about what made their Mum special they said that they cared about them and loved them. Lots of children said that giving hugs, kisses and cuddles showed them that they were loved very much. Some children said that doing things to help and making a drink for Mum showed that she was loved.
Year 1 are really excited about having their Mums in to the special Mother’s day assembly on Friday. They have been busy learning a poem and songs to share at this celebration!!
She is my mum
She is lots of fun
She is super mum
My number one
Although she sometimes gets cross
She is a proper boss!
Thanks mum
Yet we have more to come.
Our mums:
– Make us dinner and lunch.
– Put us to bed.
– Look after us.
– Takes me on holiday.
– Gave birth to us.
– Cleans and cooks for us.
– Buys us things.
– Puts us before herself.
– She loves us.
We show that we love her by:
– Helping her.
– Respecting her.
– Thanking her for everything she does.
– Putting her before our friends.
– Telling her that we love her.
– Buying her presents or making her cards.
– Spending time with her.
– Looking after her.
– Making her breakfast.
The children have practised the Mother’s Day assembly songs beautifully this week and performed them to a very high standard today.Well done! They then showed their Mum’s how special they were at the stay and play this morning, sharing handmade scones and giving them a pamper with make up and a hand massage. The children have posted lots of responses on the Foundation blog about all the jobs that their Mummy’s do, they all sound super! Please take a look on the Foundation Challenge Page.
We enjoyed doing our assembly for our mum’s. We sang the Mother’s Day song which was fun because we acted some of it out. We also gave our mum’s flowers and told them we loved them. We had a nice time on Sunday with our mum’s. A lot of us had a special meal and gave our mums presents.
My Mum is the best,
She helps around the house,
She makes a lot of food for me,
But she always needs a rest. 😉
My mum is great
She is nice and friendly.
Sometimes she let’s us stay up late,
Which is why she’s my best mate!
She cooks a great dinner;
She’s a big WINNER!!!

My mum is the best
She rules the rest
She loves flowers
and has super powers
She’s super kind
and hard to find
My mum is the best
Mothers help you every day
At least a hundred times a day
Without my mum what would I do
whenever I needed some yummy food?
She is my mum
She is lots of fun
She is super mum
My number one
Although she sometimes gets cross
She is a proper boss!
