Thank you for the story this morning Miss Mason,
It was interesting to hear about the prince. In Year 2 we talked about lots of things we want to get better at. Some of those things included maths, writing, PE, maths, trying harder to behave correctly, swimming, karate, handwriting, tae-kwondo, gymnastics, golf, judo and football. Miss Payne wants to get better at remembering to do her BLOGGING on time! Mrs Cotterill is going to try and improve her fitness levels and has promised to join us for PE! Miss Mason, what do you want to get better at?
Lots of love, Year 2
I want to get better at remembering to go onto the playground some mornings so I get to meet parents and children on their way into school. I am hoping lots of children remember to say ‘good morning’.
Also, I would like to do more teaching around the school than I did last year because I miss it. I particularly like teaching mathematics and art. Most of all I like seeing all the lovely work the children in this school do.
I need to get fit too Mrs Cotterill but I do not think I will be joining in PE lessons!
Year 1 shared lots of thoughts about what they are hoping to improve. Lots of the children said they wanted to get better at reading, writing and number work. Other children said they wanted to improve their behaviour making sure they are always doing the right thing and working really hard. Another suggestion was good listening. Everybody in Year 1 agreed to do their best this year and work hard. Fingers crossed!
Year 3 talked about lots of things they wanted to improve, like improve their football and rugby skills and working together as a team. Year 3 want to learn their times tables and become quicker at remembering them. We are sure we will work hard this year and achieve lots!
In Year 6, we have all talked about how we are going to work hard this year. A lot of us want to focus on doing our homework and spellings to a high standard. We are going to concentrate a lot on our reading, maths and writing and make sure that we don’t get distracted within lessons. We agreed that it is unlikely that people will have just one target, as a lot of people might have a different target in different areas of their school life.
Foundation 2 didn’t attend assembly on Thursday, because we were still settling into school and saying ‘goodbye’ to our Mummy’s and Daddy’s. However, we did talk about what we need to do to stay safe and happy in school. The children shared lot’s of sensible ideas and Mrs Seickell and Mrs Turner have been really impressed with how we have followed our class rules. Well done F2, you have all made a great start!
