Some of the good choices we have made in Year 5 are:
– Joining a new club. It was a bit scary on the first day, but I have lots of new friends.
– When I wake up in the morning, I try to make sure I am in a good mood for the day.
– At swimming, I had to do 6 lengths in 90 seconds. I was worried but I did it and I’m nearly at my target!
– I choose whether to get involved with an argument or stay away from it. I stay away from arguments so I don’t make it worse.
Some of the bad choices members of our class have made include fighting between siblings that have resulted in someone getting hurt. We can put this right by trying not to fight and instead talk about what is upsetting us.
Lily – Sometimes I make a bad choice when I fight with my brother, this can make my mummy and daddy feel sad. To put it right I could say sorry and try not to do it again.
Jacob C – My bad choice is when I was a bit silly at school, I know that was a bad choice because I went home and my daddy took all my toys away from me. I have tried to put it right by being really well behaved at school and saying sorry to mummy and daddy.
Phoebe – Sometimes at school when I do something which means I have to move my name down, I know it means I’ve made a bad choice and I need to be really sensible to put it right.
Blake and Jack – I try to make good choices at school to make sure I’m always on diamond.
Millie – When someone has upset my friends I like to cheer them up because I like to see my friends smile.
Eve – When my brother was poorly I made sure I gave him lots of hugs to make him feel better.
When I and my brother fight alot me and my brother always put it right together by saying sorry and always say nice things about each other and on that day we never fight again.
Alfie said that he had played well with his friends at lunchtime which made him happy and his friends happy. Mollie said she had been kind to sofia and she was happy that it had made Sofia happy too. Khai said that a few children had asked to play his game at lunchtime and he had said yes to them so he thought he had made a good choice. Thom said that he had played with his sister at lunchtime and it had made her feel happy because sometimes he said he would rather play with his own friends in year 1.
Kai moved a food dudes card in the dining hall when somebody had put it down to sit next to their friend. He apologised and said he would make a better choice next time. Nathan pushed his friend at lunchtime and then didnt listen to the teacher. He promised he would be more thoughtful next time.
I made a bad choice when my older brother and me had a fight I put it right by saying sorry and we became best friends again.I made a good choice when my friend wanted to go on the swing and she waited a long time so I let her go on my swing I know it’s a good choice because I’m being friendly.
In year 4 we talked about making choices and some of the children shared good and bad choices that they have made.
Liam made a good choice when he swapped some tickets for a dinosaur egg whilst he was in Weston.
Harry J made a good choice when he decided to score in a game rather than passing- he scored a goal!
Tabby made a good choice when she was little and decided to go into a dark cave with a witch in it because there were fairies on the other side.
Grace said she made a bad choice when she once blamed her sister for hurting her knee when she hadn’t!
Lily made a bad choice once when she ran off the step after being naughty.
Joe once pushed a button on his dad’s boat and this was a bad choice because it made a very loud noise!
