Amber: My family is special to me because they look after me and they help me at home, they make me feel better when I am sad.
Phoebe: My family is special because they look after me, and my dad takes me on fun trips, like walking in the woods.
Blake: I feel very lucky that I have a happy family because if I didn’t then I would feel sad. I like the fact that 2 new people have joined my family.
Ella: I feel special with my family because my dad takes me swimming on Tuesdays.
Daniel.K: My family is special because they come from different countries.
Jacob.S: The thing that is special about my family is that they make me feel happy when I am sad, my mom makes me giggle because she tells me funny things.
All of Year 2 think that their families are special in they own way.

Year 1 said that their families are special because they love each other and care about each other. We talked about our school family and the things needed to make a school family special. They said co-operating and helping each other was very important. Caring and being a good friend was also necessary. Year 1 remembered that treating everyone like they would like to be treated themselves was also vital. Finally they said smiling at one another makes them feel happy and special.

Macy- My family are very caring to me and buy me food and toys.
Khadijah- My family help me with my homework and take care of me when I’m hurt or upset.
