In year 6 we think that everybody in the school deserves friendship tokens. Sometimes people aren’t too nice to others because they may have problems or they may have just had a bad day. By being even nicer to these people we could help them to be nicer to others.

Year 2 think that it is important to always be kind and to try and get along. We also think that everyone should have a friendship token because everybody can be a good friend and be kind. We try really hard to make sure that we are nice to each other and make sure that no one is left out.

Year 3 really enjoyed the story and we think that everyone deserves friendship tokens, and that we can all give them with acts of kindness. We realise that the old lady changed her mean ways when she was given the tokens, and so we too can change the behaviour of unkind people if we are kind to them.
We had a chat about the sort of things that we do to show kindness to people around us. Tyler said that he gives his mum cuddles to show how wonderful she is and Charlie said that he does too!
Year 1 says:

Year 1 really enjoyed the story and said that friendship and being kind to others was really important. They said that when others were unkind to them it made them feel sad and lonely but when children were kind to them it made them feel happy. We talked about not leaving children out and how unkind words can upset others. Year 1 thought it was good to treat others like you would like to be treated yourself.
Year 5 says:
November 6, 2014 at 1:30 pm
Friendship tokens we give every day in Year 5 include: Holding the door open for others, if someone is upset or hurt we cheer them up, helping others in the classroom and simply by asking if others are OK.
We think everyone can and should give out friendship tokens. We also think that everyone deserves to receive friendship tokens, because even if someone is being nasty it is probably because they are sad or angry.

The children in Foundation are making new friends all of the time. We try hard to listen to our friends and share the toys we like to play with. The children in Foundation also thought that everyone should have a friendship token, we may even make our own!
Year 4 says:
November 7, 2014 at 8:31 am
In year 4 we are always discussing how to get on with one and other, especially at break and lunch times. We feel that no one should feel left out when playing games and if you see someone on their own you should ask them if they want to join in!
