Thom and Lotte looked at photos of different houses. We found an igloo, houses of mud, a houseboat, different shaped houses – round, square. We discussed where we could find these houses in the world.
We talked about all the different materials people use to build houses. Tommy was surprised to hear houses could be made from mud and even snow & ice!
Tommy said he was pleased he lives in a house made of bricks!
We’ve looked at lots of different houses from all around the world. We’ve seen houses in Africa made from mud and grass and sticks. Houses built on top of water on stilts. Houses made from ice, in really cold countries. We’ve also seen the very pretty houses in China with the beautiful slopey roofs.

Well done Darcy. Which did you think would be the best one to live in Darcy?
It was in Venezuela and apparently animal hairs, straw and dung are also added to help the mud stick!
