Borys is unique as he speaks, Polish and a little bit of Chinese.
Lucas is the only pupil in the class with a bearded dragon.
Foundation 2 discussed how they all met new friends at the start of school in September. We then spoke about how we can be a good friend:

Morwenna: We could give them flowers.
Oliver: We could buy toys for them.

Alex: When the Coronavirus is gone, we can cuddle.

Elsie: We could send a postcard to our friend and say they are “my bestest friend in the whole wide world.”
Year 1 liked the story of ‘The Creature in the Cave’ and enjoyed answering questions about hope and friendship. I asked the children what makes a good friend. Here are the responses:

We discussed what makes us unique such as our appearance, our hobbies, our likes and dislike. We all have different DNA and that makes us all very unique.
We talked about that it is our differences that make us special. Year 3 gave me examples of friends that they have made that have been very different to them. We all agreed that when we meet someone that is very different to us, they can still be our friends.

Dexter: I like drawing.
Minnie: I like to swim.
Matilda: I love drawing.
Dorothy: I like when my mummy paints my face and I am like a beautiful fairy.
Reggie: I like colouring.
Daniel: I like playing football.
Charlie: I like playing a rugby match.
Year 3 talked about giving each other compliments. We discussed what a compliment is and how it makes the giver and receiver feel. We talked about how saying nice things to each other helps our friendships grow and develop.
We have compliment tickets in class and Matilda sent a lovely one to her friend today. She complimented her friend on her fantastic progress with her reading words! Both girls had smiles when giving and receiving the ticket.
Year 1 named all the Toy Story characters easily. They really enjoyed listening to the music ‘You’ve got a friend in me.’ We also talked about the special friendship bonds of the characters in the story. We talked about how all the toys felt when Andy left to go to college and how they would help each other while he was away.
I asked the children to tell me about their friends. This is what they said:
