Matilda has written her story about bubbles by hand, we tried to use lots of the tricky new words to make the story interesting, I will copy it out below for you to read!

    The Bouncing Bubbles

One day a fun-loving, joyful bunny named Floppy decided to go to the beach to collect some shells. She was a curious, petite bunny who loved hopping along the golden, soft sand. It was a warm sunny day with fluffy, white clouds in the sky which looked like candy floss. Floppy found some fascinating purple shells glimmering in the sand so she followed the amazing, long trail which led her to some blue, bouncing bubbles floating in the sky. She was amazed and hopped onto one of the shining bubbles. She gasped as the bubble lifted her up into the air. It carried her to a vast land named carrot village, full of bright, juicy, green grass and long dandelions as gold as the sun. Buried deep in the ground were delicious carrots! Floppy felt excited but also a bit nervous as there were lots of other rabbits there but she started to nibble on some of the carrots, they tasted lovely! Suddenly she tripped and fell down a rabbit hole where she disturbed a family eating their lunch. Floppy was worried and said sorry to the family and scurried out of the rabbit hole. She dedcided it was time to go home so she cimbed onto the bubble and said “whizz away home” and the bubble began to decend. When she got back to the beach she saw a little kitten who looked sad. Floppy asked the kitten if she would like to hop onto the bubble and go for an adventure, this made the kitten very happy and they became best friends.

Wow, wow and wow Matilda! This is beautiful writing and such a lovely story. It felt like I was really there, and that I was reading a piece of work from a KS2 pupil. You have used lots of lovely adjectives and even a similie, a metaphor and a preposition! Well done.

Oh wow! Matilda’s use of vocabulary is amazing in this story. Well done for using so many wonderful and ambitious words.

Thank you for all your lovely comments! Matilda drew a picture and wrote around it all the words and phrases she wanted to use in her story and then we turned them into sentences!
