I have listened to the Caterpillar poem and this is what I have written:
In the poem there are rhyming words like feet and eat, wore and soar, meet and feet, legs and clogs, everywhere and there, pair and bare, see and flea. The rhyming words sound the same but are spelt differently. I have drawn the butterfly and to describe it I have written ‘beautiful, bright butterfly’ ‘Amazing and colourful’ and I have drawn the stick insect and written ‘Clever stick insects blend in with their habitats’ ‘Skinny and camouflage’.
So pleased you liked the poem girls! Well done for spotting the rhyming words Matilda. Keep them safe as next week we are going to write a rhyming poem.
Yes Libby the caterpillar is kind to the other creatures.
I listened to the poem and I have noticed 15 rhyming words. Not all have similar spelling but they sound the same for example
Air and everywhere
Bare and pair
But there are some rhyming words that are similar spelling for example
logs and clogs
jumps and pumps
The caterpillar was very kind as he was sharing his shoes. He ate all day and he walked a long way. The spider was dangling above and the caterpillar said “my shoes you would love”. Spider said “they will keep my feet as warm as toast”and caterpillar said “I think they are the ones I will miss most”.
JENSON ALLEN
Jenson wrote the following into his book whilst watching the video and then typed the responses into the blog; above and love, day and way, toast and most.
Here are some of the rhyming words I found

all and small
shell and well
hooray and stay
home and roam
leaf and relief
most and toast

How have you got on with the other work that I’ve set for this week? Has anyone watched the clips about habitats yet and had a go at the quizzes?
Don’t forget to enjoy the sunshine this week.
Happy home learning everyone. Miss you all so it’s great to see your comments and that you are having a go at the learning tasks set. Well done.
I really enjoyed learning about habitats. I have made a poster about woodlands, deserts and Savvana. I would choose to live in the woodland habitat because it’s green and there are no lions there trying to eat me!!!
This morning we have done the Phse activity. Here is Matilda’s recipe for a happy home:
1. First of all add a ball of kindness, a pinch of gifts and a cup of laughter.
2. Next crack open the cuddles and add a jug of watching movies and mix together.
3. Whisk in the fun and playing to make the mixture into a dough.
4. Roll out the dough and knead in the colouring and games.
5. Finally add a huge sprinkle of time together, love and kisses and bake it in the oven for 10 minutes. Now you will have a happy home.
I miss you all too! It is so lovely though that you are sending photos in so that I can see all of the amazing things that you are doing whilst you have to learn from home.
I really enjoyed the video, my favourite part was when he wove a chrysalis at the end. I found lots of rhyming words, shell & well, give &live, above & love, toast and most etc. They all end with the same spelling. I am drawing a picture of a spider.
A fabulous week of learning year 2! Really impressed with what you have achieved.
Don’t forget to look for the new blog on Monday with next week’s learning. However, I’ve put a photos blog up so that you can see what your friends have been up to this week. Don’t forget to add a comment.
