Just a reminder, we don’t expect you to complete all the tasks, several from each section or as much as you can manage is great.

Hi everyone. You have lots of exciting things to do. I love board games and that pile of games reminds me of mine at home. As I enjoy crafting I’ll be looking forward to seeing your lovely pictures, paintings or your creative mountains. Tolkien is an amazing author so definitely look into finding as much information as you can about him. Take care everyone and enjoy your learning.

      Hi Megan,

So pleased you are so excited about the topic ahead! It’s great that you and your Grandad usually play board games together, Grandparents are fab for that sort of thing! Zumba kids sounds great and that’s brilliant that you have managed a game of Bingo with your friends from our class! It does sound like you have been super busy and learnt loads!

      Take care,

    To Mrs Arnold:
I’m really excited about these activities. My favourite idea is building a mountain out lego.

I’ve done my Mymaths already and I’ve also almost finished my mental maths book. There are questions like 0.7 x 10 = & 5 squared x 2 = , my brother taught me how to do squared numbers.

I’ve enjoyed the Easter holidays, I went Los Lounge and Tour De Garden.

      Hi James,

I’m really pleased that you’re excited about the topic ahead. I’m pleased you like the Lego task! Wow, well done for completing your Mymaths already, that is super speedy, it sounds like you have been really hard at work. I love that your brother has been helping you, that is good teamwork!

I’m glad you enjoyed Easter, your Los lounge and Tour de Garden comments made me laugh out loud!

      Keep up the good work,

      Mrs Arnold

Dear Mrs Arnold and Mrs Laishley,

Thank you for all the good suggestions on my learning they have really helped me.
I’ve done a bit of Mymaths already but i think it is a bit hard i do not understand it and it is just so hard i have to ask for help every time i do it. There are questions like it is not what we have done i do not think i can not remember doing it.
& 5 squared x 2 = ,my sister taught me how to do squared numbers to.It was a bit boring but I did it and I found it interesting.

    • Mrs Arnold says:

      Hi Alice,
Please don’t worry if you can’t manage all of it, some of it is new learning that I’ve included as you wouldn’t be learning it at school. But it doesn’t matter if you can’t do it, we will go over it all again when we are back at school. Do what you can and stick to J2blast or your Homework/Rising stars book if these are easier. I’m not checking on how much everyone is doing, do as much as you can manage. I’m glad your sister was able to help you, hopefully this will now be new learning you will remember.

      Take care,

      Mrs Arnold

Hi everyone. Goodness me you have all been so busy. How brilliant to play bingo on FaceTime Megan. It’s really difficult being apart from family and friends but doing something like FaceTime really keeps you in touch. Well done for all the hard work you are doing and don’t worry if some of it is too hard as when we get back to school we will all be there to help. How good is it that your older brothers and sisters are there helping you out. Maths can be tough sometimes but a helping hand is great. Well done Alice for sticking with it. Don’t forget to post a picture of your Lego mountain James.

    Take care everyone

    Mrs Laishley

I have drawn my “Misty Mountains” I will post the picture later. I have read the poem from Emily Dickinson, I didn’t know what the word Omnifold meant so we looked it up in the dictionary. From learning what omnifold means, i think this poem tells us that mountains are wise and everlasting and can see everything!

Can you send us the password for Get Epic please so that i can read more poems about Mountains.

As well as this so far this week, we have made white chocolate chip muffins which looked like mini mountains. I have also helped with mountains of housework to help my mum and dad. I have also been doing lots of PE with my Dad, netball passing , netball shooting, dancing and bouncing on the trampoline!

  9. Gail Roberts says:

Hello mrs Arnold, Mrs Laishley and all of year 4. I have been reading your comments and looking at your lovely work. I am pleased to see that a lot of effort has gone into your work and as well as writing there are some beautiful drawings as well.

I am missing school very much and miss being able to say hi to you all when I see you around school. I hope you are all finding lots of exciting things to keep you busy during lockdown.

I have been busy baking, reading, sewing and making a poster for my window to support our keyworkers who are helping us to keep safe and well.

I look forward to the time when we can go back to school and can be with our friends once more but until then KEEP SAFE.

    Mrs Roberts
