Pitter, patter rain drops,
falling from the sky.
Here’s my umbrella,
Hold it up high!
When the rain is over,
and the sun begins to glow.
Little flowers start to bud,
then grow, grow, grow!
I like this poem because I like to wear my wellies and jump in the big puddles when it rains.
The birds are gone, the world is white,
The winds are wild, they chill and bite;
The ground is thick with slush and sleet,
And I can barely feel my feet.
Whether the weather be fine
Or whether the weather be not
Whether the weather be cold
Or whether the weather be hot
We ll weather the weather
Whatever the weather
Whether we like it or not.
Oh yes I did like the poem because it always said weather.
I saw you toss the kites on high
And blow the birds about the sky;
And all around I heard you pass,
Like ladies’ skirts across the grass–
O wind, a-blowing all day long,
O wind, that sings so loud a song!
I saw the different things you did,
But always you yourself you hid.
I felt you push, I heard you call,
I could not see yourself at all–
O wind, a-blowing all day long,
O wind, that sings so loud a song!
O you that are so strong and cold,
O blower, are you young or old?
Are you a beast of field and tree,
Or just a stronger child than me?
O wind, a-blowing all day long,
O wind, that sings so loud a song!
Lily likes the poem snow day by Caryn Yacowitz, her favourite part is when the child gets to go sledging. Lily says her favourite weather is snow because it means christmas and her birthday are here.
Leah likes the spring when the flowers grow she likes the poem little seed
I plant a little seed in the ground
Out comes the sun big and round
Down come the raindrops
Soft and slow
Yo comes a flower
Grow grow grow.
Oliver and mummy found a poem
The wind is full of tricks today
It blew my daddy’s hat away
It chased our paper down the street
It almost blew us off our feet
It makes the trees and bushes dance
Just listen to it howl and prance
zunnurains words. The wind is going past me on my WHOLE BODY AND I LIKE THE WIND I PLAY IN IT
BECAUSE I JUST LIKE IT
Ava wanted to make up her own (hope that’s ok!)
I made myself a snowman friend,
I made it some pajamas,
I gave it a woolly scarf,
That I think was made from llamas!
(Sorry!)

It’s Raining Hearts
It’s raining hearts;
It’s storming flowers;
We’re in for scattered
Stardust showers.
It’s drizzling chocolate ,
Pouring pies;
We might be seeing
Candy skies.
Of all the weather
There could be,
Plain water seems
A waste to me.
Sebastian likes this poem because it’s raining Candy.

It is raining
It is snowing
It is windy
With breezes blowing
I like the this poem because it ends in a rhyme.
Wind On The Hill
No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes.
It’s flying from somewhere
As fast as it can,
I couldn’t keep up with it,
Not if I ran.
But if I stopped holding
The string of my kite,
It would blow with the wind
For a day and a night.
And then when I found it,
Wherever it blew,
I should know that the wind
Had been going there too.
So then I could tell them
Where the wind goes…
But where the wind comes from
Nobody knows
Charlie likes this poem because he think that he could run faster than the wind!

1 red umbrella
1 red umbrella, 1 yellow hat,
1 shiny rain coat, look at that!
2 yellow rain boots, 1 big smile,
I think I’ll go & walk for awhile!
1 wet puddle just down the lane,
1 big SPLASH
I love the rain!
Luke likes this poem as he loves to put on his rain boots & splash in puddles when it’s raining.

Scarlett also has a huge umbrella 🙂

It rained on Will
It rained on Isabella
But it didn’t rain on Scarlett
She had a huge umbrella
