William looked up about spiders and scorpions in the encyclopedia. He found out that:
“They are very good at catching bugs with their webs”. We also found out that the Garden Spider makes a new web almost every day.
Libby has found out that spiders have 8 legs. Also they are found on every continent except Antarctica. There are 40,000 different species of spider. Libby does not like spiders
Jenson told daddy that spiders have eight legs and catch flies in their webs. Jenson checks the spiders webs through the bedroom window to check whether the spider is up in the mornings! There was a spider on the rug and Jenson watched it crawl under the sofa but couldn’t find it underneath when he tried to check where it had gone!!!
Matilda choose the tarantula to find some facts out about. We found out that:
There are over 700 types of tarantula
They live up to 25 years
They eat insects, beetles and grass hoppers
They live in jungles and rainforests
They hunt at night time
Matilda told me that somebody she knows held a tarantula and that it was hairy! Matilda is not scared of spiders and thinks it is very funny that I am! Great research Matilda 🙂

Zach has found out that spiders have eight legs and eight eyes! Spiders make webs to live in and catch food.
Well done Zach, I wonder what it must be like to have 8 eyes!
