  1. Year 1 says:

Year 1 talked about what heritage means and enjoyed looking at the photos. Lots of children recognised the Palace of Westminster, the Pyramids in Egypt, Stonehenge in Wiltshire and The Great Barrier Reef in Australia. We talked about how The tradition of Maypole dancing has been passed down through the generations and how it is important to preserve these customs for future generations to enjoy. We also learnt what an aqueduct is.

  2. Year 6 says:

The three types of cultural heritage are:
    -Physical
    -Non-physical
    -Natural

Our favourite was Westminster Palace because that is where the King and Queens since the 11th centiury have been crowned. It is close to where we live. Some of us have been there and loved it.

It is imporant we look after these sites because people like to visit them and once they are gone we can’t bring them back. They help people to learn about the history of our country.

The natural heritgae site we would like to visit the most is The Great Barrier Reef because it may not be around for much longer. It looks like it would be beautiful.

it My favourite heritage site is the roman baths in bath I like these because I like the romans and think they are some of the best builders ever. I think that we should keep these safe for future generations.

  6. 14skirk says:

There is physical heritage, non physical heritage and environmental heritage.

My favorite physical heritage is Stonehenge because It is a mystery how the stones got there and how it was used.

I think it is really important that we look after these sites because if we destroy they are going to be lost forever and if we had just built something that took a long time we wouldn’t like someone destroy it.

  12. Foundation says:

The children loved looking at the pictures of the physical cultural heritage sites. they excitedly told me about the places they had been to, or seen on ‘Go Go Jetters’.
Freddie told his friends that he had been to Liverpool because that is the football team that he supports. He was able to recognise that the photo of the Albert Docks was in Liverpool. Riley told his friends “My Dad works in London. he goes on the train.”
The pictures of the physical cultural heritage sites also raised lots of good questions, for example “How to you build things like that?” and “Who built it?”The children listened carefully when I explained about the types of jobs that are invloved in the design and build of big structures and that we need to be good at maths!

  13. Year 3 says:

Year 3 talked about what heritage means and recognised some of these places. The children talked about the places they had been to – Buckingham Palace, Stonehenge, The Pyramids of Egypt and George had been to The Great barrier Reef! We talked about why it is important to look after these places so that in years to come other people can visit them as well.

  14. Year 2 says:

In Year 2 we really enjoyed looking at the heritage places. Our favourite Heritage place was the The Pyramids in Egypt, we quite like the look of this and the Sphinx – both Miss Payne and Mrs Norris have been there and we enjoyed their stories.

We also like the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and talked about why the Coral is dying, and what we can do as children to protect our environment.

  15. Year 4 says:

The children in Year 4 found out that the three types of cultural heritage are known as:
    Physical culture
    Non physical culture
    Natural heritage culture.

Our favourite physical heritage site was the Maypole because of its colourful, dancing tradition.

Year 4 realise that it is important to look after these sites because they have been there for such a long time and are part of a country’s history. It was said, that if we don’t look after our English Heritage sites, then England won’t quite be England anymore. If they are not protected, they could ruin and we wouldn’t be able to get it back the way that it was created all those years ago.
