Charlie remembered the man was called Ghandi. The children remembered that he had lost his shoe as he got onto the train. He couldn’t get off to pick it up as the train was moving off, so he decided to throw his other shoe onto the platform so that somebody would have a pair of shoes they could make good use of.
In the car park the man helped the lady whom was in a rush by giving her his £1 coin to pay for her ticket showing kindness. He used his money so had to go and get some more money himself to pay so he could leave the car park too.
We show love by: being independent (Isla), giving people hugs (Zachary), sharing our food with those who don’t have much to eat (Demi), speaking kindly to others (Keeleigh) and helping others (Milly).
We have been very busy in year 1 this half term and have learnt all about different sorts of weather. It has been lots of fun. We have observed and recorded the weather and made a windmill although we haven’t had a windy day to test it yet! We have been learning lots of alternative pronunciations in our phonics and looking at our digraphs. We have been practising hard to improve our handwriting and had lots of fun on the apparatus in Gymnastics. In music with Mrs Rooke we have been learning about pulse and beat. In our maths we have been doing our best learning about number bonds to 10 and 20, weighing, measuring and learning all about the different coin values. We also love sharing our comments on the blog!
The man is Ghandi. When he got on the train his shoe fell off, so he decided to throw his other shoe off so that whoever found them would have two shoes!!!
Ava has worked hard each week to get on to Diamond so that she can enjoy golden time. Ava is looking forward to Parent Share next term when Mommy and Daddy will come into school for afternoon tea!
As Gandhi stepped aboard a train one day, one of his shoes slipped off and landed on the track.
He was unable to retrieve it as the train started rolling. To the amazement of his companions, Gandhi calmly took off his other shoe and threw it back along the track to land close to the first shoe.
Asked by a fellow passenger why he did that, Gandhi replied, ‘the poor man who finds the shoe lying on the track will now have a pair he can use.’
The man threw his other shoe on the track as close to the other one as he could because some people in India can’t afford to buy shoes. He instantly thought that he shouldn’t get it because it’s dangerous and somebody else can have a pair of shoes whoever claims it.
The man in the car park gave the woman some money to get out of the cark park because she was in a rush to get t lunch with her daughter and if she went back into town to get money she would be late. The man wasn’t in a rush and didn’t mind going into town for that woman so he gave her some money.
I show love to people every day by showing care, respect and kindness. I do things like helping others if they fall over or if they need help in a lesson. I say thank-you to the dinner ladies. I play well with my friends. I stack most people’s chairs at the end of the day with Lily and out the tubs away.
It can be hard to show love when you have been in an argument with somebody or if you are having a rough time at home. It can be because you are feeling ill or tired.
The man in the picture is Mahatma Ghandi. Year 6 talked about how Ghandi lost his shoe as he boarded the train. He knew that one shoe was no good to anyone so he took off his other shoe and threw it onto the track hoping that someone in need would find the pair of shoes.
The man in the car park helped to pay for a ladies ticket as she was running late and he wanted to help her.
Year 6 said they show love to their parents everyday and they said they also ‘try’ to show love to their siblings everyday too.
Evie thought that it might be hard to show love to someone when you are angry at them.
Emily thought it might be hard to show love to someone who you might blame for an argument.
Year 6 have really enjoyed ‘Bikeability’ this half term. They have also enjoyed learning about the Titanic.
The children remembered that the man (Ghandi) threw his shoe out of the window to see if would land next to the one that he had lost. He didn’t have any other shoes but he wanted somebody else to have them.
The children recalled that the lady needed to get out of the car park, but she couldn’t as she didn’t have any money. The man gave her his pound coin, but then he couldn’t get out! The man went to the shop to get some money to pay for the car park.
In Foundation we talked about the kind things we can do for our friends and our families, here are some of the thoughtful things we do:
Dexter: If someone is sad and doesn’t have anyone to play with, I will play with them.
Chloe: I play with Keira, my sister.
Lee: I helped my Dad make his cup of coffee and I made a get well card for Libby my sister when she was sick.
Freddie: I helped my Grandad wash up.
The children have loved making puppets and acting out the traditional tales that we have been learning about this half term. We are all looking forward to our trip after the half term holiday.
Ross reminded us that the photo is of a man called Ghandi. He showed kindness to lots of people and set a good example when he left his shoe for someone else when he lost the first one. In Year 2 in circle time today we talked about all the ways that we show kindness. We could think of 26 different ways!
In school this term we have enjoyed maths, forest school, writing stories, drawing and making things, golden time, playing with our friends, going on the computers, seeing Harvey the dog!
After half term we have lots of FUN stuff to look forward to like Matilda, growing seeds, gardening, our parent share, learning more and seeing our friends.
This man is called Ghandi. He showed love when he boarded a train and his shoe came off and fell onto the track. He knew that the other shoe would not be much god to him or to the person who found the shoe on the track. When the train was moving, Ghandi threw the other shoe onto the track so it landed near the 1st shoe. He knew that the person who found the shoes would now have a pair and not just one.
The man in the carpark showed love towards the woman when she was trying to pay her ticket fee but didn’t have enough money. The man gave the lady some money so she could pay for her ticket. The lady said she would send the money back in the post but the man refused and said that it was his act of kindness to give her some money. A good quote to learn is ‘give more than you receive.’
I show love to my parents by giving them kisses every night and before I go to school. I also show love by making family cards so they know that I have’t just gone to the shop and I have put time and love into making it.
It can sometimes be hard to show love if you have had an argument and you don’t talk to that person for the rest of the day. It can also be hard if something has happened at home between 2 people. They both have different stories but you love one person more than the other and believe that they haven’t done anything wrong and it is all of the less loved person’s fault. That is not the way to re-act even if you love someone more than the other.

This term, I have enjoyed learning about ww2 and frozen kingdom. I am looking forward to going to Condover and doing fun things there.
From this assembly, I have learnt that you need to give more than you receive and life will not always go how you want but need to accept it.
