  1. Oliver Reynolds says:

Ollie loves the snow!! He can’t wait for it to snow and does many weather checks to see if any has arrived. He likes to play snowball fights. We have a good book at home called Harry and the Snow King by Ian Whybrow. It’s a lovely story and Ollie would be happy to bring it in and have it read out to the others.
We know a lovely snow poem called The North Wind. We tried to find out who wrote it, but it said “anonymous”.

    The North Wind
    The north wind doth blow,
    And we shall have snow,
And what will poor Robin do then?
    Poor thing.
    He’ll sit in a barn,
    And keep himself warm,
And hide his head under his wing,
    Poor thing.

  2. Milly says:

I like snow because I like making snow people.

    Chasing Snowflakes

    I’ve been out chasing snowflakes
As round and round they blew
I had a lot of winter fun
I hope that you did, too!

  3. Freya samuel says:

We love the snow, we like making snow angels

  4. Freya samuel says:

    Snow day

Snow is falling to the ground
    Piling up in enormous mounds
School is cancelled for the day
    Children run outside to play

Snowballs are thrown in the air
    No one has any care
    About school-only fun
Because the day is a snowy one

    Snowmen are stacked very high
Their top hats almost skim the sky
To make them round they must pat
Then finish off with mittens and hat

    As the weather gets cold
    The children are told
    To come inside and eat
Hot chocolate with a couple treats

    Once the kids are done
They put on their gear for some more fun
    Some of them play around
While other kids just lay on the ground

    Another kid makes snow angels
    Until the dog named Bojangles
    Ran through his masterpiece
But then the owner yelled cease

    After Bojangles
    Ruined all the snow angels
    Kids slid down the hill
‘Til they were bitten by a chill

    Almost over is the day
The children start to walk away
As snow falls, so does the sun
Time to go in, the day is done

  5. Ava Moore says:

I love snow! I hope when it next snows there will be enough to build a snowman.

    Check out my Snow Poem:

If you go out when it is snowing
And look up to the sky
You’ll feel lots of icy kisses
    As the snowflakes flutter by

  6. Georgia Moore says:

    A Chubby Little Snowman:

A chubby little snowman had a carrot nose,
Along came a bunny and what do you suppose?
The hungry little bunny looking for a lunch,
    Ate that little snowmans nose,
    Nibble nibble CRUNCH!

  7. Lily Shields says:

Yes i love the snow because I like to build a snowman and throw snowballs at Jacob. My poem is,
    Snow, Snow
    Come to play
We can have fun in every way

    We can build a snowman
It will be lots of fun
    Hurry up and come snow
    Come, come, come!
    ❄️☃

  8. Megan says says:

I love snow! I really enjoy playing in it and love to build a snowman.
I have a few books about snow, one of my favourites is Peter Rabbits, Merry Christmas. I enjoy the part where Squirrel Nutkin shouts “snowball fight!” It’s very funny.
Father Christmas gave me some books by Shirley Hughes and one is called, The Snow Lady. I can’t wait to read it.
Mummy helped me find a snowy poem on the computer, I chose this one as I like the words.

    SNOW KISSES
If you go out when it’s snowing,
And look up at the sky,
You’ll feel lots of icy kisses,
    As the snowflakes flutter by.

  9. Anonymous says:

I like the snow because I like to make snowmen. We like the book The Snowman by Raymond Briggs which we watched in class at Christmas time.

My poem is called Snow Kisses

If you go out when it’s snowing
And look up at the sky,
You’ll feel lots of icy kisses
    As the snowflakes flutter by.

  10. Archie Kinsey says:

I like playing in the snow because I like to throw snow balls.

    Winter knitting :

    Fox’s mummy loves to knit,
she curls up in her chair,
she makes socks and scarves and little hats for fox to wear.
Sometimes the socks come out to big,
And the hats come out too tight,
sometimes the scarves are just to long,
It’s hard to get it right.

    Most of them fit perfectly,
and then his mom is done,
Then fox is snuggly and warm and ready for wintery fun.

When the garden fills with snow,
Fox runs to play out there,
All the clothes that don’t fit him,
    His snowman loves to wear.

  11. Alice says:

    Snowflakes are falling.
    Grandad is calling .
    Come in Alice he said.
    Its time for your bed.

  12. Zachary Fitter says:

I like snow because you can play snowball fights.

    Snow Day

It happened while we were all asleep
Snow had fallen – six feet deep
    The temperature was ten below
All the roads were blocked with snow
‘No school today’, the radio said
‘Stay at home in your cozy bed’
    So I quickly got dressed
    And jumped on my sled

  13. Ellis says:

I love the snow because I love having snow ball fights and sledging when it’s deep enough!

    I like this Poem:

I love snow, I love snow,
Soft white snow; soft white snow
It falls on the ground, so soft and white
Sometimes it falls throughout the night,
Did you ever see such a beautiful sight
    As soft, white snow?

I read a book about Snow in my Mr Men books collection called Mr Snow!

  14. Charlie says:

I love the snow because I have snowball fights with my Dad and brother and go sledging and build snowmen – snow is so much fun!

    The Perfect Snowball

    I made myself a snowball
    As perfect as can be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
    I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for it’s head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first – It wet the bed.”
