Cars, bicycles, motorbikes, lorries, vans and buses go on our roads. People also use the roads and dogs if they are being walked. I’ve seen foxes crossing the road at night.
Road Signs (we did some research)
A – People in the road
B – Roundabout
C – Warning, ducks could be in the road
D – School crossing patrol
E – Zebra Crossing
F – Bicycles only
G – School crossing ahead
H – Level crossing without gate or barrier
Where I live I see signs telling us there are traffic lights ahead, speed limits, pelican crossing and signs warning about nearby schools.
Cars, vans, taxis, buses, bikes and lorries all use the road. I once saw a train on the road, although it was on the back of a really big lorry. I live by a farm and see lots of tractors and horses going along the lane outside my house.
The road signs mean (mummy and I think):
A – Pedestrians in road
B – Roundabout
C – Ducks crossing
D – Stop! Children crossing.
E – Pedestrian crossing ahead
F – Cycle path
G – School ahead
H – Level crossing.
Along the lane where I live there are ‘Give Way’, ‘Wildlife crossing’ and an ‘Unsuitable for heavy vehicles’ signs.
On our roads you can see Cars, Vans, Bikes, Motorbikes, Caravans and Lorries. We have B- roads which are very quite country roads, then we have A- roads which are mainly feeder roads into cities and towns and finially Motorways which are very busy and fast, these can have 3 to 4 lanes going in one direction.
The road signs mean A- Pedestrians
B-Mini roundabout
C – Wild fowl
D- School Crossing sign, vehicles must stop when sign shown
E- Pedestrian crossing
F- Route for Cyclists
G- School
H – level crossing without a gate or barrier
I have two road signs outside of my house, one shows the name of the street I live on and the other is to show there is a no through road to the left if you turn at the T junction by my house.
There are lorries, vans, cars, tractors and buses that use our roads. The above signs are for children nearby that might be crossing the road, there might be ducks that will crosssing the road so keep slow. Where I live we have speed limits of 30mph, children crossing because of my school.
