  1. YEAR ONE says:

On November 11th people remember by wearing poppies. We give money to help soldiers who have been wounded in war time. We can by buying slap bands and metal poppy brooches too. We also have a 2 minute silence when people stop what they are doing to think about those who died so that we could live in peace.
Milly knew that the other name was Armistice Day. Jacob said that the people who died in war time sacrificed themselves for our country so that we could live in peace and freedom.

We talked about how we deal with conflict. Year 1 said they didn’t like conflict and it was important that it could be resolved as quickly as possible. The children said that they try to play nicely together but if they fall out with their friends they try to sort it out themselves or will ask a teacher or their Mum or Dad to help them to sort it. They sad that falling out with their friends makes them feel sad. They all agreed that playing happily and all getting on well was the best thing for everyone.

    CONFLICT

We deal with conflict in our life by:
-finding a fair solution to the conflict.
    -listening to others opinions.
    -staying relaxed.

It is important that we make agreements with ourselves and others to overcome conflicts because life is too short to spend involved in conflicts.

  3. Mrs Turner says:

In Foundation we talked about what the poppies remind us of, it made the children sad to talk about the brave soldiers. We talked about how sometimes we all make mistakes, even grown ups – and that we need to solve problems not make them worse.
In Foundation the children have decided that we need to work on sharing as this can sometimes be difficult and can cause arguments. Arguments make us feel sad so we need to practice the language of sharing and we have all had a practice this afternoon.

I deal with conflicts by telling a teacher, dinner superviser, grandma, granddad, mum, dad and some others that somebody and i have been in an arguement and I would politely ask them if they could try to sort it out. It is important that I make agreements to my self because it could make me a better person or stay out of trouble and arguements. We wear poppies because it was in a feild by a castle where soldiers died. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we think about the soldiers for 2 minutes in silence, it reminds me of one of my granddads since he was in a war but luckily he survived. We should never forget the soldiers because they fought for us and lots of them lost their lives for us, i am very greatful and sorry but England did win a lot of battles/wars. We remeber this day by wearing poppies and thinking about the soldiers in silence for 2 minutes.
