    We found a lot of purple fruit and vegetables :
    Purple grapes
    Purple cabbage
    Blueberries
    Blackberries
    Plums
    Purple carrots – we didn’t know there were purple carrots
    Eggplant

    Sebastian went to Tesco’s with mommy and found the following apples;
    Gala
    Cox
    Bramley
    Granny Smith
    Golden Delicious
    Pink Lady
    Braeburn – Which are his favourite
    Jazz
    British Egremont Russet

    He didn’t realise how many different sorts there were and different colours, and he found some of the names quite strange.
    He then went on a hunt for purple fruit and vegetables and found the following;
    Red cabbage
    Baby Turnips
    Swede – Well the bottom bit was purple
    Swede
    Red onion
    Aubergine
    Grapes
    Beetroot
    Passion fruit
    Purple sprouting broccoli

    Blackberries
    Blackcurrents
    Blueberries

    Libby looked at tablet while at nannies and found purple
    Broccoli
    Carrots
    Black currants
    Grapes
    Plumbs
    Figs
    Cabbage
    Aubergine/egg plant
    Potatoes
    Turnips
    An orange that’s purple inside.

    Lee looked with grandad and found
    Grapes radish
    Cabbage
    Plumbs
    Purple berries
    Black currant- Lee likes blackcurrant jam
    Chard

    They discussed apples
    Red,green,orange colours.
    Both liked the look of toffee and chocolate covered apples
    Grandad had just pressed some apples into juice Lee and Libby drank some it was great

    Ava went to the supermarket and looked around near our house for apples and purple fruit and veg. We found a few different types of apples:

    Granny Smith
    Golden Delicious
    Cox
    Pink Lady (our favourite)
    Bramley cooking apples
    And some apples on a tree (we’re not sure what kind they are!)

    We also found lots of purple fruit and veg:

    Eggplant
    Red Onion
    Red Cabbage
    Kale
    Purple broccoli
    Avocado (kind of purple)
    Turnip
    Plums
    Blackberries (we call them Brambles in Scotland!)
    Blueberries

    Phoebe went to Tesco and looked at these apples:
    -Red Braeburn
    -Red Gala
    -Red Pink Lady, my favourite!
    -Green Granny Smith
    -Green Golden Delicious
    -Red Jazz
    -Red and Green Kanzi
    She also found these purple fruit and vegetables:
    -Grapes
    -Figs
    -Aubergine
    -Blackcurrant
    -Cabbage
    -Rasins
    -Carrotts
    -Onion
    -Beetroot

    We looked online and found that there are lots of purple vegetables including;
    Blackberries
    Plums
    Aubergine
    Grapes
    Cabbage
    We were surprised to find that you can get purple carrots too.

    Riley loves apples and found out the name of his favourite which is Braeburn and his brothers favourite is called Granny Smith he found lots of other varieties too.

    Oliver went to Morrisons and we found lots of different types of apples they were:
    Cox, early Windsor (desert), bramley, granny smith,pink lady, golden delicious, jazz, russet, jonagored, royal gala and braeborn.

    Then we went and found purple fruit and vegetables which was:
    Figs, plums, aubergine, grapes, blackberries, blueberries, beetroot, red onion, red cabbage

    Lenny went on a walk on Saturday with mommy and daddy, we saw lots of apples growing on trees and discussed the different colours of them but we didn’t know the names of the apples. On Sunday Lenny and mommy went to Sainsbury’s we saw lots of different varieties of apples – Jazz, Golden delicious, Braeburn, Pink Lady and Granny Smith. We also found lots of purple fruit and vegetables including plums, aubergines, grapes, cabbage and beetroot.

    Leah helped pick apples of her aunt’s tree they were red & green. Leah also helped her nanny make apple crumble. We discussed the different types of apples
    Green Granny Smith
    Golden delicious
    Bramley (cooking apples)
    Pink lady

    Matilda’s favourite colour is purple so she really enjoyed finding purple fruit and vegetables, we went to the supermarket and found:

    Grapes
    Blackberries
    Blueberries
    Plums
    Aubergines
    Beetroot
    Red cabbage
    Red onion
    Swede

    We also looked at the different types of apples and the colour of their skin. There were lots to choose from including:

    Jazz apples
    Pink Lady
    Gala
    Golden delicious
    Bramley

    Matilda’s favourites were pink lady apples, she liked how the skin was partly pink and partly green!

    We found a few purple fruit and veg:
    – red cabbage
    – red onions
    – grapes
    – plums
    – beetroot

    We looked today at apples at the supermarket, and poppy noticed that some were only green and others had a mixture of green and red. Poppy’s favourite apple was the ‘pink ladies’ brand (just to clarify, we weren’t tasting each different apple as we went along the aisle, Poppy’s favourite colour is pink so liked the idea of those ones best).

    We have found a lot of purple fruit and vegetables : Grapes, plums, blackberries, cabbage.

    We have also looked at different apple types: Red Gala, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, JAzz and my favourite one Pink Lady as it reminds me of Pink Panther!

    William has looked at different types of apple including Royal Gala, Braeburn, Bramley, Pink Ladies and Granny Smith. He was amused by an apple being called Granny Smith.
    We made a list of purple fruit and veg. He found some plums, blueberries and grapes and I showed him some red onions, aubergines and red cabbage.

    Max found Granny Smiths, pink lady, golden delicious, jazz and Braeburn. We bought a Granny Smith Apple to try because Max didn’t think he had eaten one before. He said it is sweet and crunchy. We also found some grapes, aubergine and beetroot that was purple.

      I can’t remember the last time I ate a Granny Smith, I shall have to try one this weekend! Great work Max 🙂

    Elliot found 7 different types of apples at Tesco:
    Gala – really dark
    Bramley (Elliot found it very strange that apples could be cooked!)
    Cox – red and green
    Pink lady – pinky red
    Jazz
    Braeburn
    Granny Smith… he found some of these names very funny!

    We also found purple beetroot, top of turnips, red onions.

    Elliot loved cooking with apples on Tuesday and was excited to tell me he had used the special ‘Gramley’ apples like the ones we saw at Tesco! I must say the apple cake was delicious – I’d love the recipe please! 🙂

    Toby found lots of different types of apples in the supermarket, there were green Granny Smith’s & Golden Delicious, red Cox’s & Braeburn’s and even pink ones called Pink Lady’s. We looked for where in the world the apples had been grown, some were from England and others from further away in Spain. Then we went around the fruit and vegetable aisle to spot the purple ones, Toby found red cabbage, beetroot, red onions, red grapes and blueberries.

    Charlie went on a walk on Saturday with mummy, daddy, nanny and grandad we saw lots of apples growing on trees and discussed the different colours of them and Charlie was keen to eat one. On Sunday Charlie and mummy went to the supermarket we saw lots of different varieties of apples and other fruit and vegetable with lots of different colours
