    I went on a search in my kitchen this morning and found 2 lemons, 4 bananas and a pack of yellow post it notes. I made a tally and I counted the lines – my total of yellow objects, was a super 7! Can you find more than 7?

    Sebastian has been on a hunt around the house and found the following items:
    Lego head storage box
    Lego Box
    School top
    Maccano
    Banana
    Apron
    Lemon
    Key ring
    Book
    Certificate
    Pugsey Bear Money Box
    Submarine
    Pocket Monster
    Post it Notes
    Fridge magnet

    He has marked each item with a tally mark and knows when he gets to four the next one is marked across them so that equals five. He counted three lots of tally’s so has spotted fifteen items.

    Me and Lily completed our challenge today. As it was raining we completed the challenge indoors. Lily was very clever, at first she looked through her pen pot and found six different yellow pens and crayons 🙂 I told her to look for other objects and she did, 12 in total! She enjoyed doing the tally and understands the concept we just had to work on putting five through the middle. Lilys favourite thing she found was a yellow sticker.

    We can Mrs Turner. Matthew counted 12! We had lots of toys with yellow parts and some yellow cushions, blankets and lamps in our lounge.

    Finn went on a search in our house for things that were yellow. He found: square on a rubiks cube, lining on a coat, balloon, ball from a snakes and ladder game, football sock, clip on a watch, tennis ball poster, lego piece, paper, camera, ben 10 toy, gel pen, school t-shirt, jumper, light, adventure time toy, cup, bouncy ball, minion toy, swing seat, banana, flowers, hose and bird feeder, disc for a board game and a lego head.

    I found a yellow minion bag that was smooth.
    a smiley face key ring that was bumpy
    five yellow bananas that were bumpy
    yellow guitar that was shiney and smooth
    yellow wipes that were wet
    and mustard that was bumpy
    the total was 10

    We got all the yellow toys in lounge from Mrs potato heads hair to Peppa pigs bath.
    Lee & Libby collected 40 items between them. They had great fun

    Hattie collected a number of items on the yellow hunt, including bananas, fairly liquid, minion , post it notes, balloon, 3D glasses, and she also pointed out the yellow writing on her school wallet.
    We attempted the tally
    Hatties favourite item is the bright yellow post it notes.

    Riley went on a hunt around our house to find yellow objects, he took a piece of paper and drew a line for each object he found putting a line across it when he got to 5. He found bananas, lots of different toys, cups, food box’s and lots more, at the end I asked him to try his 5 x table to count how many he found – 34 in total. He had great fun doing this.

      Fantastic work Riley:) We do count in 5’s every day and it is a quick way to count to 30, then you could count 4 more. I’m glad you had lots of fun!

    Luke went on a yellow hunt around the house & found 24 items!! Here are a few of the yellow items he found:
    Toy cars
    Minion bag
    Tent
    DVD cover
    Banana
    Washing up liquid
    Cup
    Rubber duck
    School top
    Bucket
    Shampoo
    Luke enjoyed marking the items on his tally & counting them all up at the end to find the total.

    Oliver has been for a search round his nanny and granddads house and garden today for yellow objects and he has found:
    a football, his tool box, table, t-shirt girl Is wearing on the t.v, sponge, slippers, bricks, sun, banana, bottle, lid, toy duck, sunflower, bucket, hose, rope on the swing, card, bin, letters on book bag. Oliver found a total of 19 and he made a tally chart he understood to do four lines and for the fifth to put a line across.

    William did a hello hunt with daddy. He found a lemon, a banana, a helmet, some scissors, a plastic pepper pot, daddy’s wellies, 2 fridge magnets and a yellow glass. This was a total of 9 things. We will practice tallying numbers of objects as he has not done that before.

      Great work William, you looked carefully. For children in Foundation 1 the tally needs to be simple, please show William how to make a mark on a piece of paper for each object that they find and count them all up at the end.

    Lenny and I went on a hunt around the house looking for yellow objects today. We had great fun and found 16 objects. We found bananas, fairy liquid, our yellow gold fish, a picture on yellow paper and yellow magnetic letters on the fridge, lots of toys with yellow on them, Lenny even spotted the tiny yellow button on the tv control! We made a tally as we found the items and counted up the lines when we had finished. Lenny enjoyed this challenge.

    We went on a Yellow Hunt at Grannie’s house this weekend. Livy loved doing the tally – we focused on doing one mark for each item. With Grannie’s help Livy found 37 yellow objects around the house, including post it notes, toy penguins tummies, melon, bananas, soap, book, lion toy, two clocks, napkins and a yellow crayon.

    Ava found nineteen yellow objects around the house. These included a yellow duck, a banana, a yellow top, yellow bib, a yellow tree, a minion, a sylvanian family house, a wall, a balloon, a badge and several other little toys. Ava loves doing tally charts!

    1 pair of rubber gloves
    4 bananas
    5 lemons
    2 pillows
    10 cars
    millions of lego 🙂

    Elliot found: Train track, a chick finger puppet, a builders hat, play egg box, toy phone, a peg, his school polo shirt, a robot, Daddy’s spirit level, a lemon, Mummy’s highlighter pen, cup, a banana, egg yolk – a total of 14 items.

    Zach found a yellow cloth, yellow rubber gloves and bananas in the Kitchen, in his bedroom he found his yellow school shirt, a yellow ball and his yellow pants! He also found a yellow crayon, 7 objects in total.

    I found six yellow objects and did a tally on a piece of paper then found the number six.

    The objects were a yellow foam bullet from a gun I had for my birthday, Mommy’s yellow handbag, one of my birthday cards, a Minions top, my Power Rangers gun and a banana!

    Toby went on a hunt round the house for yellow things and he spotted loads, I showed him how to make a tally and he was excited to mark down each time he found something and he told his Dad how you had to do a big line when you got to 5. We found lots of yellow things and some with that just had a bit of yellow on and the tally got to 36.

    We searched the house for Yellow items and found a plastic bowl, my school T-Shirt, Bananas, toy box, fireman’s helmet, my brothers toy crane, photos, wrapping paper, stickers, book, sponge, lego, yoghurt pot, toy traffic cones.
