  1. Year 4 says:

Roald Dahl – Jacob – If you think you are ugly then have beautiful thoughts and you will be beautiful and if you are beautiful, don’t have ugly thoughts.

Vanier – We think that we don’t need a lot of money to be happy, as long as we have each other, that is what makes us happy. You can’t buy friends and you have to work at friendships. You can be very rich and very lonely.

Paralympians – We think they work hard in the community that they know to make sure themseleves and others believe in their abilities. Just because you don’t look the way some people think you should, it doesn’t mean you can’t be happy and achieve your goals

  2. Miss Payne says:

It was Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday this week and he wrote lots of inspiring things. We thought it was funny when he said sunbeams shine out of your face if you have god thoughts. But we know he means that you light up the world with positivity and happiness when you are kind and thoughtful to others and when you are a positive person. Sometimes it’s hard to be positive but we have to remember the things we have to be thankful for and then it does not seem so bad. Paraolympians might not have bodies that are perfect but they are so happy to be competing in a HUGE sports event. In our class some of us have watched some of the Olympics and the athletes are AMAZING. We shared together some of the things we have seen. We will try and be positive all week!
    From Year 2 🙂

  3. Foundation says:

The children in Foundation 2 are settling in well and enjoyed their first Monday assembly. Lots of things are new to the children and they have all been trying really hard to learn all of the new routines and rules that we have at school. All of the Teachers have been supporting the children to try all of the new things on offer and we have noticed just how much more confident they are becoming. We are looking forward to seeing the children continue to grow in confidence and self-esteem.

  4. Year 3 says:

Roald Dahl meant that everyone is special the way they are. If you have happy thoughts and smile you can never be ugly.

You can have lots of money but it is important to be part of a group. We are part of the following groups: Beavers, Brownies, Dance, Gymnastics, School, Boys Brigade, Football Team, Taekwondo, Tennis and Family.

We think the athletes never give up and have a lot of self – belief.
