Confucius was a teacher in ancient China. He had very strict ideas of how people should behave. He believed everything in life had to be done a certain way. Around 2,500 years ago, in the time of Confucius in ancient China, thought there was no public school. There was no public library. There was no internet of course. So, how did people learn? You could learn from your parents, but what if you wanted to learn more than they could teach you? Confucious was wise and was kind. Confucious said a few wise things, one of them was “I hear and i forget I see and i remember I do and i understand”.
Year 1 said that Confucious was a wise man who had lots of good ideas for learning and being a good person. They remembered he told people to open their eyes and look at the world around them, listen carefully to others to learn new things, share, smile and to be kind and considerate.
Our six most important statements for our school are:
-Be kind and friendly
-Be considerate
-Care for others and our classroom
-Remember to be honest
-Always share
-Help others
We remember that he said:
-always speak the truth.
-treat people like you would like to be treated.
-open your eyes and you will see many wonderful things.
We think these sayings are really important because they are important values to have.
Lily and Miriam year 6:
We think this story’s message is to never judge a book by it’s cover because it may not look good from the outside but inside, it’s wonderful and amazing!
Yeah, I agree because you could pick out a book that looks so boring you could probably do your homework than read the book. But when you read it you can’t put it down.
Like I really wanted to finish reading the Hunger Games book so I wanted to miss Dinner. 🙂
