Year 1 said that the problem was the spoon which was too long. The brothers didn’t care about each other and their Dad, the King wanted them to care for each other which is why he gave them the problem to tackle. The brothers learnt to work together and not to be selfish.
Year 1 think they are caring towards others including their family and friends. They show that they care by giving hugs, helping people, making cards and saying kind things to their friends. They also said they would help their friends if they were stuck with their work.
In Year 2 we think the brothers were greedy and rude. By being like this they had to learn an important lesson. We like to be caring and considerate in Year 2. We like to look out for each other and help each other when we can. Miss Payne told us that we should care for other people how we want to be treated. Being caring is like being kind, helpful and loving. We also set a good example to mean and rude people because they see how it should be done.
From Year 2 x
The brothers could not eat the food using the themsleves. They only managed to sucessfully eat the food when they worked together as a team. The problem was that the spoon was too long so they were only sucessful when they fed each other. We think the King did this to try to teach them to work together, to not to be selfish and to think and care for others. The brothers learnt that it is important to work with others; to care about other people; to share with others and to be polite.
Jack – The problem was the brothers were missing their mouths and after 3 days they fed each other.
Henry-I think that those mean brothers learnt a very very important lesson.
I think that the bruthers were gredy rude and selfish .I liked the bit were the bruthers feed each uther. I care for my mom dad sister bruther and my cuson . I liked the story .
They were able to eat but only if they worked together. The spoons were 1 metre long. The king did it because they did not co-operate. The brothers learnt that when you work together it helps.
Ronika- At first the brothers were not able to eat the food utill they found out to feed each other and it also to them 3 days to work out what to do!
The problem was that they could not work together and co-operate.
Daniel M- They learnt to help each other and co-operate by giveeach other a turn to eat.
These brothers were very unpleasant guests to the King’s parties since they grabbed and dipped their fingers in the food which they thought was what every other human did. Once the King had enought he ordered his guards to wake them up at midnight and to put them in the dungeon. When they were looking at eachother then the food then the King, with their mouths watering the King explained the 2 important rules they must follow. He told them that the fist rule was that they MUST only eat the food with the spoons I give you! Rule number 2, you must only eat it by the very and he meant Very end of the spoon. This spoon was 1 mentre long so the brothers found this hard to understand why he did this to them since they thought they were doing everything right. This way they understood how to care and respect other peoples feelings. What they did was help eachother eat it be doing it for eachother by using teamwork. The brothers learned not to be selfish or creuel again and most of all definitely not to be greedy to spare the food for the other polite guests.
I thought it was a really good story to show the school.
The brothes learned to care for others and I think the king idea was very good becaues it did acutlly worked. And the brothers was adle to the food by helping each other. The problem was that the brother were greedy and always push others. The king
did this so the brothers could learn to respect others. I help my mum do all the jobs and tidy my room . And I really like the story.

It is important to help each other and care for other people because they might of heurt themselves, you could help them and make them feel better and show kindess .
Holly: I help Satra when she falls over on the field, when she is doing gymnastics.
Phoebe:I always tidy my clothes and put them in my draw and in the washing basket and I make my bed because it is caring and we haved to do it.
Hi
I think it was awfully greedy of then to not care about others and dont even enjoy there food. They shoud be greatful of there food all the time because it will just be really rude to do. I can see why the king did that now they know how to care for each other.
Ethan & Raja think that, that should of happent to them to stop them being greedy, if he haddnt of done that they would still be greedy. It was a good thing to do.
The brothers were so greedy and selfish that when they saw the food they were probably lost in admiration of all the food.I am quite caring because, when Gracie cut her big toe on some metal under a door I shot upstairs and I grabbed her Minnie mouse toy and her Figaro toy ,then I gave her the toys and a big hug!
These brothers were not nice at all- they were extremely selfish. They were the exact opositte of the kind and unhappy king. One day he decided to teach them a lesson so the next night at midnight the kings guards brought the brothers into a room they had never seen before. On an enormous table there was an enormous amount of food. The king said they could eat all they wanted but they had to follow the following rules. “Rule number one,” the king went on. “You must only eat the food using the spoons I give you. Rule number two. You must only hold the spoon by the very end of its handle. Break either of these rules and you will be thrown into the dungeon.”
The king then walked out of the room, locking the door behind him. The two greedy brothers rushed forward to grab the spoons, pushing each other out of the way. But, try as they might they were not able to eat a single bit of the delicious food. Eventually, after three days they thought of the idea about helping each other so one brother held the end of the spoon and the other brother ate the food this way they learnt about how important it is to help each other. So the next day the king let the brothers out because they had been taught their lesson.
The brothers were able to eat the food but they had to feed each other. Everything in the land was perfect apart from the Kings two greedy brothers they were the greediest people in the whole land. The King locked the brothers up because he wanted them to learn how to care for each other. The brothers learned that sometimes you have to care. I think I am a caring person. I do things for my Mum and Dad and when my friends hurt them selves I help them up.
The two brothers now know that they should help each other and not be greedy or selfish again. but not just the brothers, everyone should be like this as well.
Foundation children are caring towards each other, if a friend is hurt or upset they do try to help. Sometimes it can be tricky to help someone else and then the children will come and ask the Teachers, we are all happy to helpof course! It is important that all the children feel happy and safe at school.

Did the brothers actually eat the food?
How did they collaborate?
What is the special meaning or the story?
The brothers couldn’t find there own way of eating the food so they found another way of working together.
They were able to eat but only if they worked together. The spoons were 1 metre long. The king did it because they did not co-operate. The brothers learnt that when you work together it helps.

The brothers only ate the food because they helped each other .
My favourite part was when the brothers were locked in the dark room with all that lovely food.
