The boy will learn not to lie again.
It is also better to say the truth after you lie and not keep denying it.
I was not surprised by the ending.
NO he would not lie again because he will know what happens.
Year 1 said that the message in this story is always tell the truth. The children were not surprised by the ending as we had shared this story in our fables week earlier this half term. The consequences of the boy’s lies were that the villagers didn’t believe him when he was telling the truth and the farmer lost many of his sheep. We think that the boy will learn that honesty is the best policy and telling the truth is really important.
Year 1 said that they thought the boy would never cry ‘Wolf!’ again and that he would have learnt his lesson.
The moral of the story is that you should not lie because people mite not believe you next time.
You should not lie and it is also better to tell the truth.
I think that the shepherd boy learnt his lesson from that not to lie. I was surprised at the end definitely because it was surprising that he told the truth to the old man but he probably knew why the villagers didn’t come and he probably just wanted attention because he was bored again but he didn’t wan to do the wolf trick because he may have thought that the wolf might come again and again if he keeps repeating it. I think he wouldn’t cry wolf again because he truly learnt his lesson and wanted to be an honest little boy and take more care of his sheep and do his duty correctly especially not attracting more wolves too!
We think this blog is particularly relevant to year 5. We have agreed and discussed a couple of times recently that we have not been honest, and some of the less than positive choices we have made recently.
As a class, we are going to try and remember this story and change our own actions. We have agreed to try and not get other children into trouble and instead to be more supportive and kind to others.
As we are a wonderfully lovely bunch of children, this will be really easy for us! We are going to spread kindness and respect through honesty and positive attitudes.
In year three we talked about the strong message in this story and the importance of never telling lies. We discussed the facts that no one believed the boy when he really did see the wolf because he had told lies before. Year 3 all agreed that honesty is the best policy!
Satra said how important it is not to tell lies and always be honest.
Holly said that you shouldn’t tell lies because if you get caught, you will get told off and people will stop believing you in the future.
The message of the story is don’t tell lies because when you do tell the truth, people won’t believe you. I was not surprised by the ending because I have heard the story before. The boy will learn to not tell lies.
Year 6 have listened to the story. We think the moral is to not lie, especially about serious things. This applies to our own lives at home and school as well as the scenario in the story.
Year 2 had a chat about being honest on Friday – we are going to make an extra effort over the holidays to be honest with our families and if we do something naughty tell the truth about what actually happened.

In year 4, we think that the meaning of the story is to never tell lies and to always tell the truth.
We weren’t suprised by the ending because there should always be a consequence for when we dont tell the truth.
The consequences were that the wolf did eventually come and eat the sheep and that the villagers won’t trust him again.
The boy will learn to tell the truth and never to lie again.
We don’t think that he will cry wolf again as he has learnt his lesson.
