We trust:
-Friends
-Family
-Pets
-Toys
-Club leaders
-Teachers
-The bank
We know we can trust these people because:
-They have my best interest at heart
-They care about me
-It is their responsibility to look after me
-They love me
-They respect me
-They are always there for me
The children in Year 1 loved this story and listened really carefully. They told me that they trusted their Mums, Dads, grandparents and all their family members. We talked about other people who they trusted including teachers, doctors, dentists and their friends. We also talked about stranger danger. Year 1 said that they knew they could trust these people as they had built a relationship with them and that they could rely on them not to let them down. They agreed that trust was a two way thing.
In year 3 we really enjoyed listening to the story. We chatted about the trust Blondini and his mum had for each other. In pairs we talked about people that we trust and why we trust those people. Here are some of the ideas we shared:
Jacob C – I trust Charlie because he is a really good friend who never lets me down.
Millie – I trust Amelie because she is one of my best friends and she always says the right thing.
Jack – I trust my mum because she always gives me cuddles and she is part of my family and so i will always trust her.
Charlie – I trust Jack because he always keeps my secrets.
Here are some people year 5 believe they can trust: Family, best friends, yourself, teachers, doctors and vets (for pets)
We also discussed that we sometimes trust people to different extents. For example, you can always trust your family, but you sometimes have to be careful with what you can trust a friend with.
You know you can trust somebody if they have proved to be trust worthy before. It can sometimes be hard to know who you can trust, you just have to decide who you have faith in and can count on.
To have others trust you, you must always respect their privacy and not discuss them. You must be careful about what you promise others because you need to make sure you can do i first!
Here are some ideas from Year 4:

We agree with the ideas of Year 4 and think they have come up with some great ideas.
We also thought of other people who we trust, such as the police, firemen, hospital workers, flight attendants, pilots, pharmacists and lifeguards.
