Every Monday and Wednesday I persuade my Grandma to take me on the train after lunch. I like to travel from different stations and I tell my Grandma what the next station will be. Each time I talk her into taking me to the next stop so I can learn all the different stations on that train line. I entertain the other passengers along the way. My mommy likes to quiz me to recite the stations in order ( she has no idea whether I am right or wrong). In the summer holidays grandma is going to take us on the train to London, I can’t wait.

That sounds lovely Nathan. What do you see through the window when you are on the train? Is it lots of houses and buildings or fields and countryside?

  2. Lee Wright says:

We travelled by Train to Birmingham to see a show at the town Hall . My mom explained people use trains because they don’t usually get stuck in traffic so are usually faster plus they hold more people than a car.
We saw houses and Factories. We went through lots of Tunnels and some were Dark 🙂
I have been to the Library with my Nan and got a book on transport my favourite picture is the hot air Balloon my nan said they are good fun if the wind stops long enough for you to go

We went into Birmingham on the train for mommys birthday over half term. We quite often catch the train into Birmingham as its fast and fun. We had lunch and did some shopping and came home.

we went on a train into Birmingham first my mummy and myself got on the bus to the station then mummy bought a ticket she told me that you have to have a ticket to be able to ride on the train to pay for the train to be looked after and cleaned. I was ok I didn’t need one we went up some stairs to the platform there were two platforms one for the trains going to Birmingham on and the other side for coming home. we were on the train for around 15 minutes and the seenary was a little boring there wasn’t much to see but there were some tunnels we went under I told mummy to duck as we went under them. On the way home we got on the train that was going to London so it didn’t stop until Solihull and it went very fast. oh yes and on the way there we went backwards.

  5. Lily-grace says:

Lily-grace went on the train to earlswood lakes with her daddy, she said she didn’t want to go on a fast train. Lily was so excited when she saw the train arrive into the platform. Once on she said she wanted to sit in the green seats. Once the train got moving Lily was so excited! She saw some sheep but was only a short journey, Lily then enjoyed a lovely walk round the lakes! She enjoyed looking at all the wildlife with her daddy! Unfortunately Lily and daddy had so much fun walking round the lakes they lost track of time and missed the train home

  6. Milly Barnes says:

Milly caught the train to Stratford. During the journey we saw lots of fields, sheep, horses and houses. We went to visit The Butterfly Farm. On the way back to the station we got extremely wet so we stopped of to have a lovely hot chocolate and a cake while we got warm and dry.

    • Mrs Turner says:

That sounds like a lovely day out! It’s a shame about the rain, but a least you could have a nice warm hot chocolate. What was the most interesting view out of the train window Milly?

  7. Isla Green's mommy says:

Isla got the train from Widney Manor to Solihull and back with Mommy and little brother, Dylan. Isla and Dylan spotted lots of houses and the swimming baths on the way there, they then had a nice McDonalds for tea in Solihull before catching the train back in the dark.

We are all going to The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham next weekend so Isla will have the opportunity to experience a longer train journey then.

  8. Ellis Kavanagh says:

We got the train into Solihull and it was much quicker than when we go in the car. We saw lots of houses and the swimming baths just before we stopped! There were no traffic lights or roundabouts and not many other passengers. We also used the monorail at the airport recently which was really similar to the train but the track went high off the ground and at Christmas we go on the steam train to see Santa, I love trains – they give mommy and daddy a break from driving too!!

  9. Sebastian says:

Sebastian went into Birmingham on the train and we looked out to try and spot his nannys house as it goes past the back of her house. He also spotted lots of houses and bridges. He liked the bridges in the dark. We got a book about all the other modes of transport and he now knows that a mode of transport is something to take you somewhere. He can name lots of them, his friend told him a horse was also a mode of transport then decided he wanted to ride a lion! I have tried to explain that a lion would eat him but he just keeps saying he would punch him on the nose! I have put the book in his bag as he wants to show his friends it.

On Saturday I went on a train to London. It was a bit dark and scary going through the tunnels but looking out the windows was so fun. I got to see houses, animals and when it was dark I only saw sparkling lights on the buildings that we passed. It was very different than going on a plane to visit my family in America. On a plane you mostly see clouds and the water far, far below.

In London I also got to go on 4 taxi rides (as mommy isn’t in a fit state to walk super far!!!). I liked the “magic seats” the best. They are the seats that fold down and face backwards behind the driver.

  11. Mrs Turner says:

The children have sent in some lovely pictures and souvenirs and we have made a display to showcase their super challenge work. Well done Foundation! 🙂

  12. Charlie says:

Charlie was off school poorly before half term so we didn’t know about the train challenge but during half term we did go away for a few days and during our time away we went to a theme park and Charlie had a ride on a small train there which he loved!

  13. Clare O Reilly says:

During the half term holiday Mummy, Daddy and my brother Finnley took the train to Stratford. I took some pictures of my journey, I saw some animals, houses, lots of platforms where people got on our train and off.

I met a group of ladies who were had walked from Earlswood to Shirley and were enjoying a picnic before getting on the train back to The lakes.

We had a picnic by the River and fed the swans (not by choice), we had time to play in the park before going back to the station to catch the train home.

We enjoyed our trip and Finnley loved the trains.
