Year 3 think that to be a carer you have to be responsible and caring. Sometimes it can be hard work and lonely but very rewarding. Being a carer shows courage in completing jobs that grown up do.
Year 1 really enjoyed listening to Naomi talking about young carers. They said that children who are young carers must feel very tired, exhausted and at times sad. Year 1 said that these young people show courage by helping the member of their family who isn’t able to help themselves and that they always do their best, coping with their own needs and what they have to do. They thought that the young carers wouldn’t moan as they would know what they have to do is really important in helping their loved one.
I think that these posters do show courage because the cat normally follows the mouse but the mouse stood up like saying I have had enough of this so I am going to chase you back now.
Young Carers are there to support children who have to help their parents at home. They organise fun trips and activities for the young carer. The children might feel left out as they do not have time to play with their friends, so it gives these children the opportunity to feel happy and socialise with others in their position. They show great courage through what they do.
Foundation 2 think that children who are young carers may feel tired and unhappy. We think that children who look after their parents are very brave and show lots of courage. We think some of the pictures that show courage might be a bit dangerous.
Ella wears a special string with special beads and it reminds her to show courage when she is with Matthew. It is hard to show courage sometimes.
When I play football you need to be brave in the cold and not be scared of the other team – Oliver.
