The children in Year 1 loved the advert. They told me it was important to think of others and to show them that we love them by giving a gift.
Isla said she was going to get her Mum some shoes. William said his Dad wanted some tools and a necklace for his Mum. Borys is going to buy his Mum and Dad a hat each to keep them warm. Sophie is hoping to buy her sister a nail set. Jake said he wanted to buy a Thomas the Tank toy for his brother Zach. Daniel said he would like to give his Mum jewellery. Harvey said he was going to buy his mum a flask and his Dad some yummy chocolates.
Poppy, Aaliyah and Aimee would like shopkins. Ben and Lotte said they would like a cuddly Rudolf toy. Harvey is hoping for lego and Alex would like Tracy Island.
This year I am giving my mum a cup from my little brother and I we brought it from the secret room at the Christmas fair. I’m hoping for a surprise I don’t know what I want but to be honest I don’t really want anything this year, because I have a lot of toys and books and all that stuff already but most of all I want to see my family and start a new year while we celebrate Christmas. I am going to Plymouth with my dad and my little brother while my mum goes skiing, I am going to see some of my cousins, Granddad Bobbie, Grandma Bridgette, my aunties and my uncles. I am looking forward I’m so excited about Christmas I wonder what I will get!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS
After watching the video, and asking to watch it again the children thought carefully about the message in the video. “The snowman was being kind to his snow-lady wife.” Said Zeb. The children all agreed it feels nice when someone is kind to them.
The children excitedly talked about the special gifts that they were hoping for this year. Here are just some of the responses:
Adah would like Peppa Pig toys, Zeb would like Octonauts, Sam is really hoping for Lego friends and Oliver would be really pleased if he had the Millenium Falcon.
Lily would like to get some special flowers for her Mummy. We then talked about how it feels good to be kind to others.
We watched the video and talked about how the Snowman did what he could for his friend. Ted said that he showed perseverance when looking for his gift.
Joel – I am looking forward to getting Minecraft story mode and for my dad I’m getting a very special gift.
Lexie – I am getting a chemistry set to do experiments. I am getting my brother something special with Spiderman.
Max – I am getting ‘Garden Warfare’ which is a game for myself and for my grandma something that smells nice.
Imogen – I am hoping to get a special music box and I’m giving my mum something she will really like!
Everyone in Year 2 wishes all the children in our a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS XXXXXXX
In year 5 we discussed some of the presents we have given that have meant a lot to people and have made us feel happy. Putting a lot of thought and effort into a present can mean that we get to share happiness with others and with ourselves.
We have put a lot of effort into presents over the years, whether it is making or baking things, or choosing just the right thing that would make someone else smile.
We loved watching the video. The special presents that we are getting for others this year are:
-a drone for my dad.
-a necklace for my mom that she’s wanted all year.
-a necklace and a bracelet for my mom that she really likes.
-sweets for my mom and dad.
-the disney star wars play set for my brother because he loves star wars.
-a voucher for the xbox for my brother.
-a kindle for my dad.
We watched the video and discussed what the main message is behind the clip. Here are some of our ideas:
Chloe: Love can’t stop anything.
Ariet: You can’t buy love.
Macy: It’s the little things that can make you happy.
Molly: Your loved ones have worked hard to get your presents, so we need to appreciate them.
We think it’s main message is about giving rather than receiving.
Year 3 really enjoyed this advert and discussed how important it is to care about others and how love can conquer anything! The children shared all the different ways we can care and give love to others. We need to always be kind and appreciate what we have already. We wish everyone a happy, sharing and caring christmas!

A small act of kindness can change everything and to prove that you love somebody may be dangerous but is truly magical afterwards
