  2. Adam Hoadley says:

Adam told me that Florence Nightingale was a famous nurse and she deserved a medal because she was very kind and brave. Adam said the soldiers liked her because she helped them feel better and made the hospital cleaner even when the men were on the floor. Adam said Florence was called the lady with the lamp because that’s what they called her and when we probed further he said there wasn’t electricity so the lamp was her light .

  3. Ross Little says:

Ross thinks Florence Nightingale is brave and kind helping the soldiers who were hurt in the war. When Ross is older he wants to be a teacher so he can help lots of children learn lots of things.

  4. Jake says:

He enjoyed learning about Florence and how helpful she was. When Jake grows up he would like to be a nurse. Florence was helpful, kind and caring. Jake says Florence does deserve a medal because she helps others and respects others. The soliders liked her because she helped them. She became known as the lady of the lamp because she held the lamp whilst she was helping the soliders.

  5. Tyler and Haydn says:

I have explained to Haydn that Florence Nightingale was a Nurse during the Crimena War, she was called the lady with the lamp, because she would often visit soldiers at night when everyone was asleep to check they where ok. Florence Nightingale changed the face of nursing by improving and setting the standard for basic care, so her patients were warm, clean, rested and well fed as well as improving all sanitary conditions.

  6. Zachary says:

I have enjoyed learning about Florence Nightingale because she was so nice to people and helped them to get better. She was very kind to people, she helped people and she was skilled at being a nurse. Hospitals used to be dirty places and she made them much cleaner to make sure people who were already poorly didn’t get even more diseases. I think she deserved a medal because she was always a really kind lady and because she really helped a lot of people. Soldiers liked her because she was really kind to them. She was called the Lady with the Lamp because there was no electricity 200 years ago and she used to visit patients at night time carrying a lamp so she could see. When I grow up I would like to be a footballer.

  7. Aaliyah says:

Aaliyah has enjoyed learning about the story of Florence Nightingale because she was very kind. She was very confident in her job, very nice and caring.
She made the hospitals clean and cleared out all of the rats. The soldiers liked her because she looked after them. She also helped the soldiers write letters to their families back home.
Florence carried a lamp and would check on all the soldiers to make sure they were ok and talk to them. She deserves a medal from the queen for her hard work.
When I grow up I want to make sure bad people are sent to prison.

  8. Isla Bridge and daddy says:

  9. Borys says:

Florence Nightingale helped 6 soldiers. She was very good and caring. She made the hospital clean. She was known as the Lady with the Lamp because there was no electricity when she lived and she was holding a lapmp when she was checking on her patients during the night. I would like to be a police officer when I grow up.

  10. Alex says:

When Florence was young she loved reading and wanted to be nurse. Florence cleaned the hospitals with a team of nurses, the hospitals used to smell like the sewers and have rats in, so the people would get more ill instead of better. She deserved a medal for being very kind. She would go round the soldiers with a lamp to check if they needed anything – it was before there was electricity. Alex would like to be an ice cream man or a paramedic or a policeman or fireman.

  11. Aimee's Mum says:

Aimee enjoyed watching the videos about Florence Nightingale. Florence was very caring and the shoulders (soldiers!) named her the lady with the lamp because at bedtime she held a lamp. She travelled to Britain and she wanted to be a nurse. She deserved a medal for her work because she worked so hard looking after the soldiers. When Aimee grows up she would like to be a teacher and a princess!
