Alice enjoyed searching for different objects with the number 8 on.she found that an alarm had an 8 on, a calendar, a voucher, a clock, a phone and lots more. Alice says that exploring different objects with 8 on was fun and it was really good.
Lee has been singing the song this weekend. He gets a bit middled with lines but has general idea. He is now aware spiders have 8 legs along with the octopus and an octogon.
Also between the 4 of us in our house we have the same number of legs as 1 spider. He enjoyed us all sitting on the floor wiggling legs together.
Megan has enjoyed looking for the number 8.
She has seen several spiders in the garden with 8 legs, on the shower dial, a clock face, she counted her crayons into groups of 8 and while playing hopscotch, jumped 8 slabs. She noticed an 8 on the digital clock on the cooker and the tv remote.
She said that numbers are everywhere !
We have looked everywhere for the number 8…. We found lot’s while we were out in the car on road signs and car registrations and houses. We have also just found another number 888888888888888888888888888888888888888888…. On the keyboard!! 🙂
Scarlett also found the number 8 on a clock and the clicker aka remote control.
Archie found 8 legs on a spider and octopus. We found 8 fingers (if you don’t count thumbs). There is an octagon in the back of his reading book. And 8pm on the clock is go to sleep time! !
Sebastian has been singing Little Miss Muffet all weekend,we printed off a sheet with the rhyme on & a picture of a spider.
He now knows that spiders have 8 legs & that octopuses have 8 tentacles. We looked out for the number 8.
We found a spider to count the legs mommy wasn’t impressed but Sebastian said not to be scared as it was just Mr. Skinny legs! Also baked 8 coconut pyramids.
Ava had a great time looking for the number 8 in the supermarket, at her cousins birthday party and on the houses along our street. She enjoyed trying to spot it on number plates but complained that the cars needed to slow down so that she could see them properly! Lots of fun thank you!
Adah (with help from Ethan) found lots of things with the number 8 on: a clock , a till, page numbers in a book, a calculator, a remote control, a house number, numbers on the side of a chess board and computer keys.
James has had fun pointing out the number 8 to me. He tells me our clock has the number 8 and so does his book ‘The King of Space’. His counting book has 8 bananas and 8 banana peels (after the monkeys eat the bananas) :). But he tells me his favourite number is 3 and 4.
Jared enjoyed learning the nursery rhyme ‘Little Miss Muffet’. We learnt that a tuffet is like a stool. We found number 8 on the computer keyboard and on the telephone. We also discovered that we have eight railings on the banister at the top of our stairs, and Jared noticed that his toy octopus has eight legs just like a spider. When we were at his grandparents house on the weekend he counted the eight legs on a real spider that was crawling across his playhouse 🙂
Ollie found the number 8 on the fridge door (his magnetic numbers), on the clock, on his calendar wall chart, on the thermometer, on the microwave and on the neighbours door. He enjoyed looking for it and thought it was “fun”!
Lily loved searching for different things with the number 8 and was very happy when she saw it on Strictly Come Dancing! She has really enjoyed learning the song and especially making and eating the cake she made yesterday.

I wonder if James can remember my favourite number? Can you find different ways to make 8? Good work James 🙂
