  1. Miss Payne and Year 2 says:

    To Miss Mason
Thank you for your assembly we were talking about it straight after it finished. We are respectful in Year 2 in different ways. Some of these are inviting people to join in our games, showing kindness whenever possible, not laughing if someone falls over or is having a bad day. We can also show respect for our school by not kicking toys, putting things away properly, not drawing on the tables. We will try even more to be respectful to others, our friends, our family and our school.

  2. Year 5 says:

Matthew said that being respectful is about being polite and treating others as you would like to be treated. Callista said it was about treating people the same even it they are different from you. Madyson said it was disrespectful to talk when listening to an orchestra as they are giving up their time to play. David said he could show respect by shaking someone’s hand and Lily said she could pick something up for someone who had dropped something. Luke says he opens doors for people to show respect and to stop them getting hurt.

  3. Year 1 says:

The children in year 1 said that the photo showed a handshake between 2 people showing respect for each other and friendship. They said that to show respect you need to smile, speak politely and to show kindness to others. We talked about how we try to be like Billy the bee and work reciprocally with our friends helping each other to be good learners in our classroom.

  4. Year 6 says:

In Year 6, we have had a conversation about what we think respect means and how we can show that we are respectful.

We think respect means to treat other people the way that you would like to be treated.

We can show that we are respectful by listening, being polite, not ignoring others, not hurting other people, opening doors for others, being caring and being loyal.

  5. Year 4 says:

We spoke about Respect in Year 4 and decided we could show respect in different ways. We could be respectful by listening when other people are talking, being kind, showing good manners, saying please and thankyou and being careful with property.
