Year 2 think that it is important to say thankyou to male figures who help to look after us because they take us to fun places and make sure we have lots of fun, and because they are very special to us.
Sofia said that her Dad helps her with her homework. Layton said that his Dad is good at drawing and he always helps him. Kai said that his brother teaches hm football skills. Jacob N said that his Grandad helped him to buy a train ticket at the station. Imogen said that her Dad taught her to ride her bike without stabilisers. nathan said his dad was good at making things and he helped him when he was creating! Finally Khai said his Daddy goes out to work to earn money so he can take the family on holiday.
In year 6 we discussed how we don’t all have to have biological fathers in order to celebrate the men in our lives on Father’s day. Year 6 have decided to comment below, another male that they could celebrate on Father’s day, along with their own Dad if they have one:
I am lucky enough to have the best Father in the world (for me) and he look afters me any time no matter where, when or why.
But other important men in my life are my Grandads who I love so much and they are very close to me. I would do anything to spend one precious second with them. Bill Shankly (Liverpool’s dead but most succesful manager) is important as he bought smiles to my dad’s face and when he is happy I am happy. Also my Uncles are great to me and always make me laugh. They all have a great place in my heart.
Here is a list of some of the things the men in our families do for us:
Help us to make things like cakes.
Cooks the dinner.
Help us to do things that we’ve not done before.
Help us with our homework.
Take us on trips like bike rides.
On Tuesday this week we were lucky enough to be joined by our daddies for the morning to celebrate Father’s Day. We were also joined by lots of Uncles, Grandads and Godfathers who are also really special to us. The morning was a definite success, with activities ranging from biscuit decorating and construction to our very own photo booth including props. Photos will be available on the Foundation link soon and within the next issue of ‘Cheswick Goes Chatty’. Thankyou to everybody who made this morning so fabulous!
