During Easter we get nice things from our relatives. We usually get chocolate in the shape of an egg. This is because an egg represents new life. We celebrate Easter because Jesus rose from the dead. Lots of us have roast dinner with all of our family and friends and sometimes we take part in an Easter egg hunt. On Easter Sunday we feel happy because we get to see family that we don’t see often.
Year 1 had lots of ideas about Easter! Euan said he thinks of yummy chocolate easter eggs! Jacob N said that at Easter you hide eggs and people find them and that it is always good fun. Oliver knew that at Easter time we remember that Jesus died on the cross and that on Easter Sunday he came back to life. Kai said that we think about new life at Easter time and lambs are born. Mollie said that things start to wake up and grow in the spring time. Red said that seeds are planted. Finally Alfie said “I just love eating chocolate eggs!”
The Easter bunny comes to every body’s house and hides chocolate eggs in their garden. Flowers blossom because it’s the spring time. I enjoy eating lots of chocolate with my little sister Muna at Easter.

Year 6 discussed that Easter means many different things to us. New life, the coming of spring and of course chocolate. We discussed the fact that chocolate is used as part of the celebration of Easter, a time to celebrate but also relax.
Easter to me means that it is spring. It also means that I get to spend time with all of my family and it is the first time I get to go to my Nan and Grandad’s bungalow after the new year.
