In my research I have discovered that in 79 AD the houses in Pompeii where built in a Roman style, as the city was a very wealthy Roman city. Houses were square in shape, with an open courtyard, normally with a fountain in the centre, all rooms in the house opened onto the courtyard. walls within the house were decorated with painted scenes of Roman life.
Archaeologists believe that children of Pompeii went to School, however they have never found any evidence of a school building it is believed they held classes in large open areas, however only the children of the richer residents where able to attend.
Archaeologists have found the skeletons of cats and dogs which would make it highly likely this animals where kept and looked after as pets.
