I have really enjoyed the peaces of music so far. some of them are funny and some are loud and scary. My favourite one so far is a night on the bare mountain. It was really scary.

  2. Year 6 says:

On Monday we listened to Beethoven’s No. 5. Jai thought it was slow and then dramatic and then slow and him feel tense. Amelia felt that it was loud and we think this is possibly because he was going deaf. We were shocked that he composed the music by remembering the piece and imagining what it would sound like. Jack thought it was powerful, especially as it was from memory.

  3. 14KVaughan says:

Icould hear the clairenet and it was very loud 🙂

  4. 14NWroughton says:

I think that this most recent piece would be my favorite because it was so dramatic and the fact that he did it when he was going deaf so that is amazing!!! 🙂

  5. Lydia.P says:

Today we listened to Beethoven’s Symphony No.5. I thought was very dramatic and I had a mix of feelings when I listened to it. I thought it was an amazing piece to make even without being deaf so for Beethoven to make it by memory while going deaf is even more amazing.

the beethoven music was really energetic and it made me feel really exited.

  7. 14hcross says:

I thought it was an amazing peice and I think it is spectacular that he was able to compose such an amazing peice whilst he was going deaf. It really made me want to compose my own peice on the piano. It really made me feel like I was listening to it whilst it was happening.

  12. Aman FTW says:

On Monday we listened to Beethoven piece of music called Symphony No.5. It was a really good piece because it got faster then slower than faster. I also found it really fascinating that Beethoven was deaf when he wrote this music so he had to remember all of the sounds of the instruments and I certainly could never do that.

  13. Year 1 says:

Year 1 thought Beethoven’s music today was very loud, fast and tense. Euan said it was like a magician doing his tricks and it made him feel nervous. Red said the music was like the wheel on a car starting slowly and then getting faster and faster. imogen said it was magical. Alfie said he just enjoyed it and Meira said that it was very loud.

  14. Year 5 says:

Today we listened to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. Harvey thought it sounded like a storm. Macy thought it was very dramatic and loud. This could be due to the fact he couldn’t hear the music himself. We found it very impressive that he wrote music without being able to hear it.

  15. Miss Dawson says:

Today we listened to Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 (3rd movement). Harvey said it made him feel calm. Emily said it made her think of a horse race. Joseph said that because he wrote this song for his friend, maybe it was a surprise. The song reminded Chloe of ballroom dancing.

  16. Mrs Gibson says:

Today we listened to the 3rd movement (Rondo) of Mozart’s Horn Concerto No 4 in singing assembly. We talked about a concerto being a piece of music written for a solo instrument, in this case the French Horn, and that in a Rondo the tune is repeated several times. The children counted how many times the tune was repeated as they listened to the music. The music gave them different feelings: Charlie (year 3) said it made him feel sad but Joel (year 1) said it made him feel happy. Evie (year 4) told us that her great grandfather played the French Horn.

  17. Year 3 says:

We talked about today’s piece of music in year 3. Eleanor said that the music had lots of brass intruments in it including the french horn. She described the clip accompaning the music as being very suitable for the music. Marco said that people were chasing the french horn in the clip. Maddie said that the music was extremely loud! Oliver felt that it was a dramatic piece of music.

It is really good to read that so many of you are enjoying the music.

Today we listened to the piece called Zadok the Priest and we were asked to work out how long ago it was made. I have worked out that it was made 288 years ago, that is a long, time ago!! It was written by Handel for the coronation of king George the 3rd, so it had to be pretty spectacular!

  34. Foundation says:

Yesterday lots of the children got very excited when they heard the piece ‘Zadok the Priest’.
