  1. Tyler Inman says:

I enjoy listening to classical music sometimes, this music reminds me of a Star Wars Space battle, it is very similar to my favourite piece of music called ‘ Molossus’ written by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard written in 2004, taken from batman begins soundtrack, both pieces of music are fast in pace and building, just like the building of a storm the crashing of the waves and the flash of lighting. My favourite planet is Jupiter, this music makes me feel, happy and puts me in a celebration mood.

  2. Year 1 says:

Year 1 said that they liked listening to the music and it made them feel happy. Oliver said that he was blown away by it as it was so good. Euan said it made him feel like the war was coming. Khai said that it was noisy and Ted said it made him feel jumpy. Year 1 described the music as dramatic and said it was sad in places. They said the music was both fast and slow. We also listened to Jupiter by Holst and the children enjoyed that too. They said they couldn’t decide which was best as they liked both pieces. They are going to try and listen to other pieces at home.

  3. Foundation says:

The children listened to Mars from the planets today and they had some interesting comments about what they heard.
    Isla said ‘It was good’.
Ross said ‘It was in space’.
    William said ‘It was loud’.
And finally Mrs Seickell said ‘It was exciting!’

  4. Ted Mitchell says:

Ted enjoyed Mars from the Planet Suite but his favourite was Jupiter because he thought it was happy and cheerful and it made him want to be happy. He also liked where the music changed to be like the hymn “I Vow to Thee My Country” he thought the music sounded important.

  5. Darcy Deeks Year 1 says:

Mars sounds like soldiers marching to a big war and it gets louder when they have a battle
    Uranus sounds very busy
Neptune sounds small & tinkly. It sounded cold & like Christmas
    Saturn sounded big & sneaky
    Jupiter was big & quick
Venus sounded calm, sleepy & a bit sad.
Darcy’s favourite was definitely Neptune because it sounded just like Christmas and it was soft and nice

  6. Year 3 says:

In year 3 we chatted about the piece of music that we listened to in Tuesday’s piece of music called ‘ Hall of the Mountain King.’ Most of us really enjoyed the piece of music. However, we did say that it made some of us feel a little scared at times because the volume and tempo kept on changing and sometimes it was very fast and loud. Some children felt that it was a little spooky.

  7. Jacob Norris - Year 1 says:

Jacob listened to Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune at home. He thought Saturn was too ‘Dark’ and Mars music was something out of Star Wars! But his favourite was Jupiter as it reminded him of the film they watched in assembly of the Mountain troll chasing the man.

  8. Meira says:

I liked the music of all the planets but my favourite was Neptune because the music felt gentle and nice. I think the music of the planets is wonderful and splendid. The music of Mars felt like whales splashing and The music of Jupiter sounded like a huge celebration.

  9. Year 5 says:

J’Jay thought Mars made him feel angry, because it sounds like something bad has happened. Chloe thought the music was very powerful. Amelia found that the music made her feel stressed, because of the low pitch and the slow pace.

  11. Aman Chana FTW says:

This piece of music made me feel very excited and I felt like I was really in a war and it was quite fast pace. I think it represented its name ( Mars Bringer Of War ) really well. The perfect words to describe it would be exciting, dramatic and fantastic.

  12. James says:

    mine was mars.

  13. Jack says:

I like this piece of music because it is exciting and makes me feel like I am in a rocket like the video at the start.
