Our class’s new year resolution is to not to talk over other classmates and teachers. We think the school’s new year resolution should be to act sensibly in the toilets, including turning the taps off to save water.
The children in Year 1 celebrated the new year with their families. Some children had parties, heard and watched fireworks and watched Big Ben at midnight. We talked about resolutions and a few children had their own ideas. Oliver wants to learn to play golf with his Dad. Saffy said she is going to learn to ride her bike without her stabilisers. Jacob said he was going to have some swimming lessons to improve his swimming. Ted said he was going to stop eating chocolate!
Year 1 also shared their thoughts about ideas to make our school a better place. They had lots of suggestions!
In Year 2 we celebrated the New Year by staying up until midnight, Satra enjoyed using party poppers, Jack and his family had a party and listened to music. Lily’s family also had a party. Everyone enjoyed it.
This year we want to read faster, work hard a school and Amelie even wants to keep her bedroom tidy!
Our resolution for our school is to spend more time outside planting flowers and other plants to make our school EVEN better!
Year 6 have some New Year’s goals!

We have been talking a lot about what our goals are for this year. Here are some of the comments made by the children: To learn to ride my new bike, to play football, to tidy my room, to look after a younger sibling and to eat more vegetables. The children have already started trying to achieve their goals and so have the teachers!
In Year 4 we have been been thinking about what our goals will be for the new year. Here are a few examples we came up with:
Help our families more
Practice neater handwriting
Keep our bedrooms tidy
Keep our heads up when we don’t success at first
To go outside more
Eat healthier food
Play with our family more
Don’t take anger out on others
To read more
To be happy
To get highest point on the behaviour chart
Work quicker at school
Year 3 are going to work on not interrupting each other when someone else is talking. We are going to work together and remind each other about listening carefully. We must wait until the teacher or our friend has finished talking and then we can share what we want to say.
