In year 4 we celebrate Christmas in lots of different ways for example putting up a Christmas tree, opening advent calendars, spending time with family and friends, eating lots of chocolate and having fun. During the year we also celebrate New year, brithdays, Chinese festival where we eat dumplings, Divali, Pancake day and Easter.

    How do you celebrate Christmas?

Harvey – We have Christmas dinner and spend time with our families, giving gifts.
Chloe – I wake up really early in the morning, then we all open our presents before getting ready to go out for a meal.
Daniel – We decorate the Christmas tree as a family.
Amelia – We save one decoration to put up on Christmas day.
Logan – As a family, we go to midnight mass.

What other celebrations do you enjoy during the year?

As a year group, we thought about the following celebrations: weddings, Christenings, baby showers, Eid, birthdays, Easter, the new year, Diwalli, Chinese new year, Halloween, thanks giving.

We are all preparing for christmas, we have a Christmas tree set up in the classroom. We are making Christmas cards this week and will make calendars next week. We have been sending Christmas cards to our friends in class. It is a busy time for all of us!

In year one we have been busy making our calendars to take home, we have put up a christmas tree in our classroom and we have worked really hard to learn all the songs and actions for our Christmas play ‘Countdown to Christmas’. We are excited about sharing our play with our visitors this week. We are all going to try our very best.
At home we have been helping put up the decorations. We know our Mums and Dads have been doing lots of shopping and writing cards too. It is a very busy time for everyone.

  5. Year 6 says:

In year 6 we all look forward to christmas, we have set up our christmas tree in our classroom and we have been sending each other christmas cards. As a class, we have thought all about the other special celebrations such as: Diwali, The Chinese New Year, The New Year, Haloween and Easter. We all celabrate Christmas in diferent ways for example: we eat a chocolate from our advent callender every day, we have a Christmas dinner, we love to open presents, we love to give presesnts but most importantly having fun!

The children are busy making and writing cards to wish their friends and family a happy Christmas. The children were really excited by the visit from Rev. Vicky this week and we loved the assembly, it’s really beginning to feel like Christmas in Foundation! The children have made some beautiful and unique decorations to hang on the tree or around the classroom, we even had some Ninja Turtle baubles!
Earlier this year the children had a Diwali Stay & Play session, the children loved dressing up and making their diva lamps – we think all celebrations are fun.
