We looked on the internet to see what Diwalli meant and found it was a Hindu celebration of Lights. It lasts for 5 days starting Thu 23rd Oct 2014. Sweets and gifts are exchanged. Zachary has learned about Diwali being the Hindu festival of light and that it lasts for 5 days. It is celebrated by lighting candles and through fireworks. He learned about Rama and Sita being sent to live in the woods for 14 years and how a 10 headed demon called Ravana kidnapped Sita. Rama managed to rescue Sita with the help of a monkey called Hanuman.
