We are all a bit confused by the challenge! Do we need to make it at home and send it in or just send in materials. I think it’s the bit about ‘support’ which is confusing us most! Peace help and I can post the answer on F2 moms page on FB. Thanks

    • Mrs Turner says:

Hi, you will need a plain plant pot for your child to decorate at home, you can help them to decorate it if they need your support. They will need to bring this in, on or before Wednesday. The children will then be planting a daffodil bulb into the pot at school on Wednesday (Foundation will provide the bulb and the compost). I hope that makes sense…

  2. Haydn says:

Haydn has decorated a plant pot to bring into school, he has used his favourite colour green, by painting the pot he has decorated it using glitter and buttons, I have varnished his pot to make it suitable to be out in all weather.

  3. Ross Little says:

We have had to improvise and use an empty milk carton! Ross wanted to make it look like a boat? He loved using the glue and the sequins and foam shapes. He wanted it to twinkle in the dark!

  4. Alex says:

Alex has decorated his pot like a bumblebee using little foam squares. Daddy and Alex worked together on it. There were lots of little squares so Alex was in charge of peeling the back off them and passing them to daddy who helped to stick them on the pot. Alex stuck on the bees face and wings and stinger with glue.

  5. Adam says:

Adam decided he didn’t want any help and after raiding his craft drawer , he covered his plant pot in every single sticker he could find. Adam enjoyed this activity and wrote his name neatly on his pot too.

  6. James says says:

I enjoyed decorating my pot with yellow stickers. I’ve even stuck ‘Mrs Peltiez’on my pot in a yellow frog onsey. 🙂

I can’t wait for cooking! I love banana milkshakes!

  7. Charlie Bosworth says:

Charlie has enjoyed working with Nanny and Grandad to put a face on his plant pot which he will bring to school on Wednesday.

  8. Zachary says:

Zachary spent the weekend in Inverness on a relative’s farm. They have a pet sheep called ‘Larry Lamb Chop’ who had been sheared. He decided to make his pot look like a sheep and so with help from his mummy and daddy he has made a woolly sheep pot. He has learned from the farmer that it will be waterproof because sheep have lanolin in their wool which stops the fur getting too wet. Sorry in advance, the wool smells of authentic sheep ;-). Good job it will be outside.

    • Mrs Turner says:

What great timing, Larry looks great 🙂 I wonder how he will look with a daffodil growing out of his head!

  9. Isla G's Mommy says:

Isla loves flowers and gardening (!) so I’m sure she will really enjoy planting her daffodil. Isla chose yellow paint (from the kitchen and bathroom touch up range at Home Base – I am hoping this is weather proof!) and painted a picture of a smiley face, a daffodil, a sun, a bird and a tree on her plastic plant pot. She then used pegs, pipe cleaners and bells for the finishing touches.

  10. Aaliyah says:

Aaliyah wanted to make a pink sparkly plant pot. We used pink paint with glue to cover the surface and then made swirly patterns with glue and sprinkled pink glitter on top of the swirls of glue. We also stuck foam flowers and butterflies onto the plant pot. Aaliyah’s plant pot is definitely style over substance, not sure how weatherproof it will be!!!
We have wrapped a layer on cling film over the outside of the plant pot. Hopefully the magic fairy glitter and a little help from the cling film will do the trick!! But if not there may be pink puddles in the garden area!!!

    • Mrs Turner says:

I’m sure the magic glitter will do the job, we can also put it under a shelf to give it a helping hand 🙂

  11. Borys says:

Borys loved the challenge. He decided to go with Red-Indian / Xmas / Spiderman theme 🙂 With some help he decorated his pot with coloured paper and foil strips. We attached coloured feathers to it together with small felted snow balls. He then decided to go ahead with the super heros stickers. Fingers crossed the pot will be weatherproof.

  12. Alices mommy says:

Hi F1 teachers. We were also confused with F1 homework with this yellow challenge, hence I sent in some yellow waterproof material and a plant pot. Will they actually be planting a bulb as Alice said she did not today? I am happy to cover the pot at home and plant a bulb with Alice this week. She loves gardening with me and planting things! Usually herself! These bulbs wont be growing until next spring tho will they?

    • Mrs Turner says:

Thank you for your response, I am sorry to hear that you found the challenge confusing. We will endeavour to be clearer in the future. If you are ever unsure in the future please do ask a member of staff on the gate in the morning and we will be happy to help. We still have a few children who need to plant their bulb and this should be completed tomorrow. It has taken us a little longer than anticipated but we are working very hard to get through the very long list of children that we have. 🙂

  13. Ben says:

Ben really loves going to the beach. He used different coloured sea glass that he had collected on the beach, and then stuck them on with Daddy’s hot glue gun….supervised of course!
