  1. Ted Mitchell says:

Ted looked at the website and we read all the stories. He had a go at the game and liked the bit where the rocket blasted off when he got all the answers right.

    • Mrs Turner says:

Super, well done Ted. The stories are a good at helping us to remember how to stay safe by the road. What kinds of things can you do to keep safe by the road?

  2. Khai says:

Khai liked playing the game with Lucy and spotting if the people were wearing bright clothes or not. We also played the game where we could spot if it was safe to cross. Khai didn’t choose a safe time and the car hooted at us which was scary, luckily it was only on the game. We read a story about Klara and talked about holding hands when we cross the road. We have been talking about being safe when we are walking and scooting too. Khai has to wait at every lamp post when he scoots, if he forgets then he can’t hear Mummy calling him. Sometimes he forgets but he knows he has to really try hard not too.

  3. The Parry Boys says:

We looked at the think website, but unfortunately as it wasn’t compatible with the iPad we were unable to play the games but we talked about stop, look, listen, how to cross a road safely and how to use different types of crossings. Oliver enjoys pressing the button to cross the road.

    • Mrs Turner says:

We shall play some of the games in the classroom this week so that the boys don’t miss out. I am glad the boys have been using ‘Stop, look and listen’, I always liked the hedgehog in the old adverts because the song was so catchy!

  4. Euan says:

Euan looked through all of the posters, read “Mr Lumpy’s Journey”, identified the noises that the vehicles made, and played the game to identify whether the people crossing the road were dressed brightly or not. Euan’s favourite part of the site was guessing the noise that each vehicle would make.

    • Mrs Turner says:

It is important to use all of our senses when we are near a road, especially by people’s driveways. What kinds of things would give us clues that a car was about to move on a driveway Euan?

  5. Darcy says:

We have looked at the website together and played the game. Darcy loved it when the rocket blasted off when she got all the answers right. We also looked and spoke about the posters. As it was such a nice day today we all went to the big pool to feed the ducks and geese. We have to cross a number of roads on the way, so Darcy put into practice what we’d learnt and was also telling Scarlett all about being road safe.

  6. Sofia V. says:

We saw all the pictures and we talked about the options to cross the road, like zebra crossing or traffic lights,
We liked to play with the sounds but mainly we enjoyed playing to spot if the people were wearing bright clothes or not. The rocket was funny.

  7. Immy says:

Immy enjoyed all the activities but liked the game where she had to spot the brightly-coloured people the most!

  8. Rosa says:

At the weekend we went for a walk. Rosa took her baby and a pram with her. There were many busy roads to cross so we used pedestrian crossings when we could. At other times we had to check carefully that there weren’t any cars coming. We talked about how when you are crossing the road if you drop something or if Rosas pram got stuck we would just have to leave it to make sure we got to the other side safely.

    • Mrs Turner says:

It can be tricky to cross a road when you are carrying or pushing something, it sounds like you were very sensible Rosa. Well done 🙂

  9. Joe says:

We looked at the website and had a go at all the activities. Joe’s favourite parts were listening to the story ‘Stay close Klara’ and playing the game, particularly when the rocket took off! We practiced these ideas at the weekend when Joe and his brother went to their Nannies’ house on their bikes, and they had to cross lots of roads carefully.

    • Mrs Turner says:

That sounds brilliant Joe, you have worked hard this weekend 🙂 What do you think is the most important thing to do when you are by a road?

  10. Harvey Nuttall says:

We went onto the website and Harvey enjoyed playing the game ‘Be bright, be seen’. In this game, Harvey had to identify whether people were wearing brightly coloured clothes or not to cross a road at night time. He got all the answers right and enjoyed watching the rocket take-off at the end of the game!

Unfortunately, for some reason we could not get on to any other games, but Harvey enjoyed playing this anyway!
