The Magic Half.
I read The Magic Half because in the story opener there was a girl called Miri, and she found out from her two brothers that there was stolen treasure hidden somewhere near their new house. The treasure had been hidden back in the 1920’s,and when i read the blurb on the back of the book it said that Miri goes back in time to 1935, so it sounded like it might be interesting, with lots of mystery, magic and adventure. This made me want to read on because it sounded like it would be a story i would enjoy. I think it is a mystery story.
Harry Potter and the prisoner of askaban.
It is a setting/character opener.
It hooks me in by when it talks about how his life is not very ordinary and it makes you want to read on.
Darren shan circ du freak as it starts in a school and gives most people something they can relate to as well as introducing a group of characters and a destination that they will be going after school which gives you a reason to read on.
