Year 5 discussed this mornings assembly about being brave.
Ways we may need to be brave as we grow up.
Zachary – when we go to secondary school.
Toby – when we start primary school.
Amelia – getting through the first interview for a job.
Finley – when you take your driving test.
Ellie – when the teacher asks you to speak in class and you may feel nervous.
When have you needed to be brave?
Scarlett – when I took part in my dance show in front of an audience.
Freddie S – when I fractured my eye socket and had to go to hospital.
Olivia – when my Mum broke her leg.
Imogen – when I started ballet lessons.
Charlie – when we lose someone or something we love.
Do you think you are a brave person? Why do you think so?
Dexter – I think I am brave because I play rugby and it can get very rough.
Finley – I was brave when I broke my elbow.
Zunnurain – I think I am brave as I have taken part in a boxing match.
Do you know any brave people? Why are they brave?
Imogen – my uncles were brave when they lost their wives.
Harry W – my family were brave when we lost our dogs.
Ava – my family were brave when my Grandad passed away.
Chloe – my dad was brave when he had to say goodbye to his dog.
How do you need to be brave as you grow up?
Archie- keep trying and get back up when things go wrong
William- be brave and speak your mind
Madison- don’t be afraid to say no to things that you don’t want to do
Max- be who you are and don’t let others tell you who to be
Charlie R- try new things and don’t worry about what others say
When have you had to be brave?
Ethan- when I went down a fast slide
Jenson- when I had an accident and cut my head
Libby- when I did a competition and danced a solo in front of nearly 400 people
Alex- when I lost my dogs
Edward- when I was invested in to cubs
Charlie t- when I was little, I went walking and my friends went down a scary, dark path and I had to go too
Are you brave and why?
Elliot- Yes because I went down a slide after someone else had had an accident on it
Phoebe- yes because when I was younger I went down a scary water slide
Ben B- Yes because I was in the park and fell off the monkey bars and hurt myself but I was brave
Charlie R- Yes because when I was playing a game someone accidentally tripped me up but I got back up and carried on
Matthew- Yes because I got kicked in the face by studs but I still love playing football

Poppy-Mai- my cousin who is only 2 fell over but she got up and carried on playing
William- Bear Grylls because he jumped off a cliff into a lake
Zack- my cousin went on massive rides
Max- Matthew because he fought cancer!
Year 1 enjoyed the story and told me about times when they had to be brave.
Kyton told us that as we grow up and try new things we might find some of them challenging which will need us to be brave.
Amelia told us that she had to be brave when she fell and broke a bone in her leg when she was on the trampoline.
Esme told us that she had to be brave when she took off her armbands for the first time and swam on her own.
Brooke said she had to be brave when the water was so cold and she had to jump in. She said she knew she would have fun.
