    Ben A- He couldn’t dance.
    Edward- He was sad and disappointed.

    Jenson- They made fun of him because he was different.
    Charlie T- He couldn’t dance.

    William- The cricket helped him not give up.

    Poppy-Mai- He proved he could do it!
    Layla-Rose- He proved everyone can dance if they put their mind to it.
    Matthew- He proved that it’s ok to be different.
    Georgia- He didn’t give up.

    When do we need to be resilient?
    Courtney- when I’m doing maths
    Ellis- When I’m in a football match so that we can win
    Matilda- when I’m cantering on my horse
    Charlie T- If I’m working and I don’t understand it. I keep trying.

    Is there anything you need to see differently?
    Courtney- more resilience with gymnastics
    Matthew- being able to get up in the morning
    Jenson- I need to see myself in a more helpful way

    What was your favourite part?
    Layla-Rose- When he did the back flips.
    Sophia- She thought it was funny when they were giggling.
    Madison- I liked the part when he started dancing and the animals all said wow!

    Here are a selection of some of Foundation 2 responses to the story:
    Ted-The giraffe did what he liked. He didnt listen to the other animals.
    JacobK-He did not give up.
    Conor- He was determind.
    Emily- I am determind when I challenge myself.
    Jovan- When I challenged myself with reading I became a clever cloggs!

    Year 5 enjoyed the story about Gerald the giraffe.

    Ellie – Gerald couldn’t dance and all of the other animals made fun of him.
    Dexter – He was bullied and was very lonely.
    Olivia – The cricket made Gerald see that he was special and needed different music to dance to.
    Nathan – Gerald proved to the other animals that he could dance!

    Zunnurain – I need to be more resilient with Grammar as I find it difficult. I will keep trying to improve.
    Finley – I could be more resilient in Maths as sometimes I give up too easily.

    Harry T – I liked it when Gerald tried to dance.
    Dexter – I liked it when the animals danced.
    Freddie F – I loved it when Gerald did a back flip!
    Charlie – I liked it when Gerald swished his tail round and round.
