    Here are some F2 thoughts and comments on anger:

    Kyzon-I get angry. When I get angry I tell my Mum and Dad.
    Conor-I get hot like a kettle.
    Emily-My tummy feels fuzzy when I am angry but I read a book or write something and I feel better.
    Ted- I take deep breaths when I feel angry.
    Aidan- I like to listen to music or pretend I am in a hotel.
    Winnie-When I am angry I get hot and I cry. I ask teachers and Mum to help me or sing a song.

    Year 1 enjoyed the assembly and had some good answers.
    What makes us angry?
    Esme – When my sister won’t let me play.
    Rosie, Annabelle, Orla – When my brother is mean to me.
    Chloe c – when my sister won’t share.
    Daniel – When my brother Luke tells me off.
    Jake – When people annoy me.

    What makes you feel good?
    Arthur – Going swimming.
    Jack – When my brother plays with me.
    Zach – When my sister is kind.
    Elsie – When I am having a fun time.
    Maddie – When I am playing with my friend Dorothy.
    Orla and Annabelle – When we go dancing.

    How do you keep your cool?

    Morwenna – Walk away.
    Avayah – I play with my toys.
    Minnie – I shake my body.
    Matilda – Look for somebody else to play with to distract me.
    Esme – Take a deep breath and count to 5.
    Kyton – I sit upstairs and watch TV

    We agreed that if someone smiles at you, you want to smile back.

    What makes us angry?
    Alex- When someone makes fun of me or other people.It’s teasing.
    Zach – My brother sometimes doesn’t leave me alone when I want to be by myself.
    Edward- When things seems unfair, eg. my sister getting away with things that I don’t.
    Archie- When I’m playing sports and things aren’t going my way. I get angry.

    We talked about what anger looks and feels like…
    Courtney- It shows on your face. You look mad.
    Edward- People grit their teeth.
    Matthew- Clench your fists.
    Georgia- You get a fiery feeling inside.
    Joe- You feel like you want to punch out.
    Finley- You feel tight and lose control.
    Charlie T- You erupt.

    How can we keep our cool when we get angry?
    Jenson- Go to another room or space.
    Max- Find a distraction like playing in the garden.
    Poppy-Mai- Tell someone so they can help you calm down.
    Ben B- Close your eyes.
    Charlie- Lie on your bed.
    Elliot- Count and breathe.

    We talked about controlling anger and that we can only get angry if we react to something.

    Things that make us feel good?
    Alex- smiling
    Sophia- playing
    Ethan- watching football
    Zack J- playing with pets

    We finished our assembly with a little smile rhyme…
    You smile at me, I smile at you, Then one smile becomes two!

    Nathan – when my WIFI doesn’t work!
    Ellie – when I lose a board game.
    Lily Grace – when my sister takes my Ipad.
    Harry W – when my brother won’t let me use his football.
    Ava – when my sister goes into my room.

    What makes Year 5 feel good?

    Freddie F – when my sister goes to a sleepover!
    Chloe – lying on the cold side of a pillow.

    Chloe – puts me in a good mood for the day.
