Year 6:
What were the main differences?
Georgia – our lives are a lot easier because we have radiators for example and they didn’t. We have food readily available but they had to go out and hunt for it. This was very dangerous.
Do you think cavemen and women had healthier lives than us?
Ava – I think they had healthier lives because they didn’t have as much sugary treats to eat like we do now.
Lily – Cavemen had to hunt for their food so they were more active than us.
How can we keep healthy?
– Exercise regularly
– Eating fruit and vegetables and a mixed diet
– Getting enough sleep each day
– Drinking enough water
How can we continue to be healthy in the future?
– Go the the gym and do classes
– Walking to and from school more
– Try and ask parents to park further away to get more steps in
In Year 4, most of us thought that the cavemen had healthier lives as they could only eat what was provided by their surroundings and they had to do lots of walking, running, cutting and hard labour for every part of their lives.
Archie- they didn’t have sweets and chocolate
Ellis- they had to do so much energetic work
Edward- they couldn’t dial UBER EATS
However, some children thought that we were extremely lucky because we have so much choice. We can pick all manner of fruits and vegetables to eat. We can access these easily and we have so many opportunities to do sports and active exercises.
Charlie R- we can play lots
Libby- we can do keep fit
Poppy-Mai- we can swim
Jenson- we can jog
Joe- we can have vitamins too!
We talked about increasing our daily exercise and choose a balanced diet to help keep us fit.
Do you think cavemen and women had healthier lives than us?
Zunnurain – Yes, because they didn’t have cake, crisps and biscuits like we do.
Amelia – They did because when they went out hunting they would have had a lot of exercise.
Charlie – I think they would have been mentally healthier as they were outdoors a lot and had to think about tactics to hunt for food.
Lee – Yes, because they didn’t have computers or social media and would have spent more time outdoors.

Hattie – I think I am a healthy person because I go out on my bike and my scooter most days.
