    What will you be doing during the Easter holiday?
    Lots of us are seeing our friends and family during the holidays.
    Ada – I am going to Scotland
    Milly – I am going to Sri Lanka
    Georgia – I am going to the Netherlands

    Do you think you will be having any chocolate this Easter?
    Lots of children in the class are looking forward to having chocolate eggs this Easter!

    Why do we eat chocolate at Easter time?
    Isla – it is an old tradition

    Why are chicks associated with Easter?
    Ellis – chicks are linked closely with eggs
    Elijah – I think chicks represent new life because Jesus was reborn

    What do Christians believe happened to Jesus at Easter time?
    Zeb – a lot of Christians believe that Jesus was killed on the cross and then he rose from the dead.

    Do other countries celebrate Easter? How do they celebrate?
    Alice – yes lots of countries celebrate Easter. In America they use long spoons to tap eggs in a race. In Scotland they rolld eggs down a hill. In Poland they paint eggs to decorate them.

    Is Easter at the same time every year?
    Lily- sometimes you have a leap year so the date can vary slightly.

    -Going to the farm to see the baby animals (Kyton)
    -Holding baby chicks at Hatton (Minnie)
    -It feels special because of all the baby chicks and new born lambs (Esme)
    -It is a time for families to get together.
    -Easter hunt looking for chocolate eggs hidden in the garden (Jake)

    -Going on holiday to woolacome (Brooke)
    -Going to the park (Kady)

    A gigantic yes and lots of hands up in Year 1!

    Thomas told us that Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday and rose from the dead on Easter Sunday.
    We talked about how Easter is on different days each year.

    Year 1 are all looking forward to celebrating Easter with their families.

    Zac – In American they roll eggs down a hill
    Molly – In India they decorate eggs

    Is Easter at the same time every year?
    No. We agreed it was often at the end of March or in April.

    Every child in year 3 will have at least 1 Easter treat!

    Maya – It’s a celebration to show a new life being born (Chick hatching from an egg.)

    Orla – Jesus died on a cross and came back alive.

    Sophia – India celebrate Easter by taking part in lent.
    Maya – Scotland celebrate by taking part in an egg roll race.
