Thomas said this is a special story as Jesus is the son of God and it is Jesus’s birthday. He said we celebrate his birth every year at Christmas.

We loved listening to the Nativity story in year 3. We talked about our favourite part of the story. Pippa and Maya love the part when the inn keeper lets Mary and Joseph stay in the stable with the cows and donkeys!
Our favourite characters are Jesus and Mary.
We discussed why this is such a special story, Dylan said it is special because Jesus was a good person who helped the world and it is the story of his birth.

We talked about some of the fun things we did to prepare for Christmas. The children have helped to decorate their Christmas trees, put up lights, have written cards, and opened Advent calendars. Holly told us how an Advent Calendar works – that you open a new window on the calendar each day.
