    Year 5:
    What is your favourite part of the story?
    Jacob likes when the kings travelled to Bethlehem
    Alice likes when Jesus was born
    Ellis likes when the angel came and spoke to Mary

    Why is this such a special story?
    Riley said because the son of God is born.
    Charlie said that it is now why we celebrate Christmas.

    Year 4:

    We love celebrating Christmas. The things we like most are sharing presents and coming together to have a yummy Christmas dinner.

    We are looking forward to having some time off school and enjoying time with our families.

    Year 6 enjoyed the assembly this morning.

    Borys likes the part in the Nativity story when everyone is gathered in the stable to witness the birth of Jesus.
    Wills favourite part is when Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem.

    To celebrate Christmas we share presents, pray together, watch Christmas films, have a special dinner, display lights in and outside our homes and most importantly we all come together and spend time with each other.

    Year 6 discussed that although this may be different this year, we will all try to celebrate it in the best way possible.

    Evie is looking forward to her Christmas dinner, Lucas is excited about his Nan coming to stay, Sufyan is excited to see family, Archie is looking forward to opening presents and Borys is also looking forward to spending time with family.

    Ajays favourite part of Christmas is sharing presents. Bens favourite part is watching Christmas films and Zacharys favourite part of Christmas is seeing his stocking when he wakes up.

    Year 1 enjoyed listening to the story of the First Christmas.
    Zac, Liliana, Gracie, Emma and Lois said their favourite part was when baby Jesus was born in the stable. Neave and Imogen said they had enjoyed the part when Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem on the donkey. Finnley said he liked the part when the three Kings travelled to Bethlehem on their camels and brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

    Imogen said it is special because it tell of the very First Christmas. Liliana said it is a very special story because he was the son of God. Emma said it is a special story because it is Jesus’s birthday. Jenny said it is special because the star that shone in the sky was brighter than any star ever seen.

    We are all excited about Christmas.

    Alex: When the shepherds travel to Bethlehem to see baby Jesus.
    Morwenna: When Angel Gabriel visits Mary and Joseph and tells them about the special baby.
    Charlie & Jake: When the Three Kings go to see baby Jesus. They give him gold, frankinsense and myrrh.
    Rosie, Reggie and Thomas: When Jesus was born.

    Why is this such a special story?
    Oliver: Baby Jesus was special and he had been born.
    Morwenna: Jesus is the son of God and he is special. God is his dad in the sky and Joseph was his land dad.

    Ben A: Mary getting the shock of finding out she was going to have a baby.
    Madison: When the wise men followed the star.
    Poppy-Mai: When Joseph has a dream to go to Egypt because Herod was going to kill all the baby boys.

    Why is this such a special story?
    Alex: It’s important to Christians.
    Elliot: It’s remembering the day the son of God was born.
    Charlie T: It’s the birth of Jesus and he is so special.

    Year 1 celebrate Christmas by
    -putting up our Christmas trees (lois)
    -putting a star or angel on the top (Imogen)
    -putting tinsel and lights on the tree (Molly G)
    -doing all the shopping (Zac)
    -making a Santa list (Neave)
    -Eating turkey (Charlie G)
    -Pulling crackers (Charlie R)
    Our favourite things are decorating the tree (Lois), all of it (Flossie), opening presents(Aiden), pulling crackers (Gracie), playing in the snow (Jenny) and being with our families.
    I asked year 1 what they were looking forward to most. This is what they said.
    -Lots of presents (Ella, Aiden, Sofia)
    -Santa coming (Molly B)
    -Opening presents (Finnley)
    -The last window on the Advent calendar (Neave)
    -All of Christmas (Emma)
    -Eating lots of lovely food. (Sadie)

    We loved listening to the Nativity story in Year 2. We discussed this as a class and said the following:

    Pippa – My favourite part was when Jesus was born and when the angel came
    Alfie and Dylan – My favourite part was the three wise men bringing gifts
    Eva – When all the animals came to see Jesus be born
    Gwen – When the inn keeper let Mary and Joseph in and when baby Jesus was born

    Why is it such a special story:

    Chandler – Because it is about Jesus
    Jack – So we can learn about the baby Jesus
    Holly and Gwen – Because it is about God’s son

    Rio – Tinsel
    Eva – Decorations
    Ava – Christmas dinner
    Jay – Stockings

    Favourites:

    Chandler – Roast dinner because I like how it tastes
    Holly – Dinner, I like food
    Isaac – Seeing family because I love my Family
    Rio – The presents because I like it went Santa brings them
    Maya – The Christmas tree

    Looking forward to:
    Gwen – Hearing Santa
    Eva – Opening all the presents
    Dylan – My family having a good time
    Holly – Going to see my Nanny and Grandad

    Year 5 talked about ways that they celebrate Christmas. We shared our Christmas traditions:
    Alice makes cookies on Christmas Eve.
    Georgia’s elves leave a Christmas Eve box with goodies.
    Ava celebrates New Year’s Eve with friends.
    Lily’s family release balloons to remember loved ones.
    Hannah visits family for a Christmas meal.
    Ellis goes for a meal on Christmas Eve.
    Keeleigh watches Christmas films.
    Elijah spends time with family.

    We talked about how this year some of our traditions might have to be adapted but we are still really looking forward to Christmas.

    Matilda: We send cards.
    Charlie: We give presents.
    Na’Taiyah: We put lights outside our houses.

    What are you looking forward to most this Christmas?:
    Maddie: Putting a star on top of the Christmas tree.
    Violet & Oliver: Eating Christmas dinner.
    Rosie: Eating Christmas pudding and opening presents.
    Elsie: Evcrything! It’s too hard to pick one thing!
