Most of these games work by the player trying or trying not to complete the circuit.
The card is made so when you can see the front (when it is closed) the circuit is complete lighting up the card.

They make it work by attaching wires to something that conducts energy And have a object that conducts energy as well and when the metal touches the other metal it sends a signal that alerts the buzzer making it do a sound
